David is frequently praised for quick communication and willingness to accommodate requests, including earlier pickups. However, one user experienced rigid pickup/return times, leading to extra charges and difficulty getting a walkaround video link.

The van drives well and is usually well-stocked with camping essentials like a fridge and kitchen supplies. However, taller guests found the bed too short. One renter also detailed significant maintenance issues including a roof leak, loose solar panel, and faulty wipers.

5.0The van ran flawlessly on our trip up to Utah and David was very helpful in checking to see that things were going well for us. Also very accommodating to any requests we might of had. Great responsive renter! Would rent again.

2.0Buyer Beware. Two main issues with this rental: (1) The pickup time is 3 PM. Quite late if you’re heading on a road trip, especially in winter, and when you consider the fact that the pick up location was 30 minutes from us, and the van needed to be stocked with our stuff before we could hit the road. This wasn’t going to work for us. When I asked if it was possible for the van to be ready earlier in the day, I was told that 3 PM was the earliest. When I offered to pay an extra night’s rent, suddenly the van was ready 24 hours earlier. So, I paid for an extra night to park the van in my driveway, so I could leave at a reasonable time the next day. Return time is 10 AM. Again, mighty early if you’re returning from any distance away. The pick up and return times are not listed until after you book the trip. You can’t know how many nights you need without this information. Had I known this, I might have chosen a different host with a different pick up time. Under the circumstances, I felt coerced into paying for an extra night. I was able to negotiate a later return time. (2) David sent me a link to a walk around video and told me to call if I had any questions. The video link was not live and the messaging feature in the Outdoorsy app does not allow copy and pasting. David never responded to multiple requests to send me the video link through a different channel, and he did not respond to my attempts to call him. This meant figuring out the van without any support. The van itself was fine. It seemed well-stocked and drove well, though I could not find an extension cord to plug into a power source and the windshield wipers were shot, so we drove through rain in both directions with shoddy wipers.
