Our 16-foot 1960 Dalton vintage travel trailer "Honu" is well equipped and has been lovingly restored. This is an ideal authentic "glamping" camper for relaxing at our beautiful WA state parks or as temporary accommodations for visiting family members. She weighs about 2500 pounds and can be pulled by SUVs and trucks.Systems: The water system includes a 6 gallon water tank with a manual pump or you can connect a campground hose for pressure wather. Electric service is a 30 amp RV system for lights and power outlets. Stored in the trailer is a portable heater for cooler nights. Liquid propane powers the Princess range and oven. There is a porta-potti that is easy to use and store. Gray water from the sink is plumbed to an exterior container. Currently, there is no fridge although we plan to install one this fall. We have had good experiences with coolers...this is camping after all.Towing: The trailer is just under 3,000 lbs. fully loaded. Drivers with some experience towing are preferred. There’s no brake assist so we require vehicles rated with 4,500 lb tow capacity to assure safe braking and handling capabilities. She has been updated with a 2" ball load-levelling hitch system and this is provided as part of the package.A few simple rules for this trailer:
- Do not transport bikes, grills, heavy canopies, or any other large unwieldy gear or machinery inside the trailer without prior agreement. If you’d like to transport more than your basic food, clothing, coolers and other light cargo please work with me in advance and I’ll help you pack it safely.
- Please be gentle with "Honu". She's dear to us and wish for her to be treated and handled with care. She was designed to be towed at 55mph max on smooth roads. If you have a heavy foot on the accelerator, please consider another trailer.
Ce qui est inclusIncludes propane (two 20-lb containers), 6 gallon fresh water tank, fully stocked kitchen with utensils, 2 camp chairs, charcoal BBQ. Please bring your own sleeping bags but bedding linens can be arranged in advance. RecommandationsWe'd prefer that the "Honu" stay within a 3-hour or so drive of the Seattle area, so WA state parks west of the mountains are a great choice. We've been to the WA coast and have loved our experiences at WA State Parks such as Birch Bay, Larrabee, Padilla Bay and Deception Pass.Autres points à signalerWe include a weight-distribution hitch (WDH) with levelling bars as part of the "Honu". This is designed for easier towing by all vehicles and is required. Your tow vehicle must have a 2" receiver for this hitch. Prior to rental, we'll want to know the height of your receiver so that any adjustments to the WDH can be made.

Hello, we're Melanie and David from Woodinville, WA. This listing is for "Honu", our 1960 16' Dalton camping trailer. We've restored her lovingly over the years, not to a "brand new" state but as an authentic vintage camper. We've loved taking her to vintage trailer rallies and to WA state parks. She can be towed comfortably by an SUV or truck. As an older trailer, she loves slow speeds, flat roads and level campsites! She sleeps two really comfortably and is well equipped for a weekend getaway or as extra capacity when you have family visiting. We look forward to hearing from you!
