We picked up the van with no issue at all, everything mostly worked but was a bit cryptic if you were novice adventurer. Shower speaker did not have a charger, twinkle lights usb connection was work out and stopped working. Linens and towels were very clean and comfy. Kitchen was fully equipped as well as wood and chairs to enjoy a nice fire. All in all the van worked perfectly for our trip around the island.

I got a message from the host a couple days before our trip, saying that the shower didn’t work, they offered us a partial refund to continue our trip or possibly to cancel. We chose to continue with our trip with the partial refund and host said that was fine. Nothing else was communicated on this matter before we began our trip. After our trip I asked about the refund and they said that the shower had been fixed and they therefor wouldn’t be honouring our agreement before hand. We had taken him at his word and left the shower alone and spent more money to stay in campsites with shower access. The van itself at one point was very nice it is well set up and arranged well. The maintenance has been lacking and current condition was a bit rough. First of all you need to pick up the van in an vacant parking lot which when we arrived was populated with people doing drugs out in the open. There was no one to meet us so this was a bit daunting instructions were sent via video link. Once we got into the van, check engine light, tire pressure sensor and another sensor that came and went throughout our trip. Main door did not shut all the time and the remote door locks only worked occasionally which we didn’t find out until well into our trip. Front tires were bald and didn’t preform in the rain. Condensation forms in headlights at night making it hard to see. Cabin heater kept throwing error codes and either blew full heat or no heat no matter which setting it was on. No Bluetooth or cruise control and outside banged up a lot so shouldn’t be marketed as a luxury campervan.

Great rental experience. Pick up/drop off Instructions were very clear. Van is in good condition. Spent 8 days exploring east and north Vancouver Island.

We spent two and a half weeks on the road with Shoe and she was absolutely fantastic! The interior was equipped with everything we needed and lovingly designed so that we really felt comfortable and at home. We made quite some miles as we explored Vancouver Island and the Canadian Rockies, but the van ran reliably at all times.

We rented Shoe from YeahTheVan for 6 days, and had a brilliant holiday! The van was so comfortable for 2 people, great to drive and had most things we needed. My favourite part had to be the super comfortable bed and bedding! The pick up and drop off was contactless, with the owner sending updates via WhatsApp including a pick up video. Although this covered most things, we would have liked to meet Dean to ensure everything was covered and pre-existing damage was pointed out. The video and booklet also didn't include information about plugging in the electric hookup, and troubleshooting hot water which we went without as we didn't have internet connection whilst on the road to be able to ask about. Overall though I would recommend YeahTheVan, van rental is definitely the best way to see Vancouver Island! Thanks again, Katy & Andy :)

My daughter and I rented this van as a fun girls get away weekend. We loved the van and found it perfect for what we were doing. The owners were amazing and really responsive anytime I had questions! Unreal experience all around. Taylor was super awesome with communication and expecatations. The van was in great condition, well above equipped with essential items, and clean. The bed/bedding was COMFY as heck! I want my bed to be that comfy. Cutest little details too (pop up window at the back to look out when you first wake up was so ideal.) all the functions like shower and sink and fan worked great with no problems. For a first time solo road trip is was a super user friendly van too. All around 10/10 experience. Will be renting again forsure. Thanks guys!

It was my partner and I’s first time in a camper van and Shoe was PERFECT. Taylor gave us a ton of tips to help plan our trip in the weeks leading up to it and answered our questions from the road very quickly.
We rented mid March for 6 nights. Even with rain almost every day we had such a good time that we ended up extending the trip. It’s a great size, easy to maneuver the cities and get in and out of campsites. The hot shower, heater, and incredibly comfortable bed made for very cozy nights. We cooked dinner every night in the van. We’ve already started planning our next trip in Shoe.

Smooth pickup/ drop off experience, exceptional hosts, clean & highly functional camper, excellent experience on all levels. Dean did such a great job renoing the 2008 dodge sprinter with hot water/shower access, ample power, heating/cooling, mini fridge, gas cooking plates, etc to make your stay very comfortable! Highly recommend.

It was our first time renting an RV of any sort and we had a wonderful experience. Dean's camper van is equipped with everything you could need. We did the loop from Victoria to Port Renfrew, up to Lake Cowichan, and back to Victoria again. Being the shoulder season, the campsites were all relatively quiet. The van was easy to drive and negotiated the winding road to Port Renfrew with ease. Highly recommended to novices and experienced campers alike!

I just got back from 3 nights camping in this super comfy van. I loved that I could stand up in it. The fridge was a good size for all my food. Seeing as I always bring more than I need, I brought an extra cooler for my beverages. The bed is very comfortable, and with the curtains drawn it is nice and dark for sleeping in. The kitchen comes complete with all the basics you would need, including nice quality pots/pans. Lots of lovely details like living plants, twinkle lights, and artwork on the walls. There was tons of storage space for personal items. And the garage in the back is huge, if you have suitcases or other things you want to tuck away. There were camping chairs in there, and a great quality axe for firewood. There is a heater for cooler nights. The van is quite easy to drive because of the rear view camera, and the side mirrors. Dean was so friendly, and quick to respond to inquiries. He was super helpful in explaining how everything worked. I look forward to renting this van again in the future. Thanks Dean!

My partner and I recently took Dean’s Van out for a couple of days of back logging road adventuring. As is the rule on Vancouver Island, we experienced the gamut of weather conditions. While there’s nothing better than waking up to the sound of rain on the roof of a Van, the feeling of being able to have a hot shower after being out in said rain is a close contender. Dean thought of everything when it comes to amenities, which lets you muck around in the wild all day then return to the cozy comforts of a Van that feels more like a tiny home. Could not recommend this Van more, whether you’re taking off for a one night getaway or hoping to set up shop somewhere for a few!

This rental experience was a dream - Dean was so accommodating to our time restrictions and made the whole pickup/drop off a breeze. This camper is BEAUTIFUL, the hand-crafted workmanship is evident and there are so many thoughtful details (like REAL wall mounted plants, beautiful lighting, comfy bedding, camping chairs, outdoor blankets etc). All of the appliances and tools were top notch - even the frying pans are high quality! Pack lightly because the camper already has everything you need - however we did find our extra cooler handy for beverages with the fridge full with our food. This van was easy to drive, comfortable, and well equipped with water, propane, and an instantly warm shower on demand! We were super impressed by all the modern touches like the backup camera, thermostat, and battery monitor. We would rent this van again in a heartbeat, and if you’re considering it, you should too! Thanks Dean for the sweet welcome package and for making this an A++ experience.
