I have a friend that will be managing the Van rental, as he is learning to get his sailboat license. Once he does get his license he will be able to take the Van's Renters on a free day sailboat trip, or longer paid trips (if schedules line up).
Until and after he gets his license, I will give the Van's Renter the key to the docked Sailboat to stay on, hang-out on, cook on or drink on. Not to sail with.
