Here's the things with our furry friends, long hair is a pain to clean, they can have an accident inside or chew something with the anxiety of the house moving under foot. No smoking inside that's just nasty. Again, don't be afraid to ask, options are open, understanding, distance, time, fuel, cleaning are the costs though :)
