2022 Ford Transit Custom
Affordable, glorified box on wheels for hyper local camping or stealth urban camping in all electric transit van!!!This is the only all electric camper van on the rental market in south Texas. Priced reasonably due to the current work-in-progress state. This 2022 Ford E-Transit van is my lil experiment and daily driver.Perfect for state park camping or urban stealth camping. There is a full sized bed, a small Dometic fridge, window covers, work surface for standing desk and 2 chairs. There will be 2 pillows, blanket, fresh sheets as well as two small battery powered fans. I can optionally provide camping cooking gear, including butane stove, camping travel pots, and camping lights. For power, there’s only 12V car built in outlets and included small inverter for small electronics. Bring your own generator or portable battery pack. This camper is self-built and does NOT include plumbing, bathroom, running water, air conditioner (besides built-in car unit), or other vent fans or climate control. Despite not having all the typical RV amenities, it is a spacious and low key DIY rig. Medium roof with 68” of height on inside for comfortable standing. The van itself drives beautifully. Exceptional car features like auto windshield wipers, cruise control, auto lights (high beams), backup camera, CarPlay, makes this a really, really fun ride. Most people who are interested in this camper van are either very excited about electric cars or want a short term city stealth camper or a camper for a visit to local state park.Odd and less common uses include: attending a concert in San Antonio/Austin, someone coming to San Antonio for medical reason/surgery and wants to sleep near/at hospital, parent helping their kid move, and camping at a family members home.Note on electric vehicle— I will provide thorough instructions for EV charging and best practices. Bottom line—can you go to Big Bend and back to San Antonio in 4 days? No, it’s literally impossible in this van. Can you make it there and back in like 2 weeks? Yes it’s possible with maybe up to total 80 hours of charging time at slow charging 120V outlets (1-2% battery charged up per hour with this slow charger). This is because there just aren’t charging stations in West Texas. Please do your research prior to booking. Please contact me if you have additional questions or if anything is not clear. I very much look forward to helping you plan a great trip!Ce qui est inclusThere is a full sized bed, a small Dometic fridge, window covers, work surface for standing desk and 2 chairs. Q.How do I charge the van?
R.
2022 Ford eTransit van uses the standard SAE J1772 or CSS charging port. [Not CHAdeMO, not Tesla chargers--although I have an adapter to use non-supercharger Tesla charging stations.] Plugs into the front of the van. There will be a slow, 120V charger included. This plugs into a standard 120V wall outlet and into the van. This is the slowest type of charging available. Otherwise, you can use charging networks.
