Tips for a great trip:
Leave the heavy luggage at home. Pack light. We have a good amount of storage for a campervan, but it always fills up FAST.
Try not to over fill the Fridge. It works well to keep your items cold but overcrowding it interferes with its refrigeration abilities.
Soapy water ONLY down the sink. Food headed that way will lead to clogged plumbing and bad smells :(Please find another van if you’re headed to Burning Man, Coachella, or any music festivals. Also, no towing please. You will need to purchase Outdoorsy’s insurance. Binders are not accepted. No smoking, of any kind, is allowed. Our best friend is Smokey the Van Cat, but SMOKING of ANY KIND isn't allowed. If our van is brought back smelling of smoke (other than campfire smoke) a $150.00 extensive cleaning fee will be added. No off roading/ 4X4ing. This is a front wheel drive vehicle suitable for hard top roads or stable dirt roads leading to camp sites.

5Rob and Liz have thought of everything! We had an absolute perfect trip in The Bear and would not hesitate to rent again. They communicated everything so thoroughly. Made for an exceptional weekend getaway for myself and two kids. Highly recommend!

5Robert was amazing communicating and explaining all the details ahead of time. The van is LEGIT! Anything we forgot, the van provided. I loved the feeling of having a cabin on wheels at our campsite since alot of van setups are too modern. Where to start? The inside is custom designed with very cool wood carving. We enjoyed the amenities the stove, fridge and toilet! Easy to drive and to maintain, just the simple Bear necessities! I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a smooth van experience for their next camping trip.

5My grandson and I loved our first ever camping adventure together in this cabin on wheels. The ease of driving and parking the van was a breeze. Rob and Luz couldn’t have been nicer. We definitely plan to take another camping trip and will definitely rent The Bear Necessities cabin/van again. Rob and Luz have included everything you could need for any adventure. The star gazing from the rooftop was such an added bonus!

5My daughter picked out this van because of its obvious charm - a mobile cabin in the woods! We had a wonderful 4 days. Everything we needed was there, using the van was simple - and if it wasn't, Robert had detailed everything in a set of videos loaded to a small tablet - the van was a breeze to drive, and having a stove was an unexpected delight. I have thought this was an unnecessary luxury until I had fresh bread with my eggs and coffee in the morning. I appreciated the length of the van as at 19ft it was parked easily and permitted at 'tent only' sites in the park. Thanks for a fun trip!

R.
If you can drive a car you can drive our van. We also have a rear view camera that gives you a better view of whats behind you than you have in your own car.

Normal pick-up and drop-off times are between 8 am and 12 noon. We can discuss flexibility with those times ( depends on our current work schedule at that time).
Q.
Is it tricky to operate the different systems in the van?
R.
Not at all. We have a YouTube walkthrough/ coaching video you can watch before renting. We also have added an Amazon tablet with 1-minute instructional videos that will be going with you on your trip. You can reference it at any time on your trip (no internet connection needed).
Q.
Can I bring my pet on the trip?
R.
There is an add-on fee of $78.00 per pet. + $10/day for trips over 10 days. ATTENTION: We take great care in keeping our van clean and fresh for all our guests.
