Jayco Jay Flight SLX 174BH Travel Trailer

This is our second time booking and everything was great. We will absolutely book again.

We rented this trailer for a family trip and had some issues that could have been prevented. Communication before pickup was limited, our emailed questions went unanswered, and the handoff was rushed. The trailer was also not very clean inside or out when we received it. During the trip, one of the main tires wore through completely to the belts and turned out to be over 9 years old, well beyond the 6 year safety standard for trailer tires. The spare was also 9 years old, had a nail in it, and was flat when we needed it, making it unusable. On top of that, the A frame jack failed. We had to replace both the tire and the jack ourselves, losing part of a day dealing with the situation. The owner reimbursed us fairly after we provided documentation and added a bit extra for returning the trailer early, which we appreciated. He didn’t give us a hard time once the evidence was clear. The trailer now has one new tire and a new A frame jack, but we’d still recommend that future renters thoroughly inspect tires, the spare, jack, cleanliness and overall condition at pickup. The drop-off was also rushed, similar to the handoff. In hindsight, we could have asked to inspect the tires more closely at pickup, but we trusted the owner’s word that everything had been checked and was road-ready.

The camper was great, everything worked well, it was clean, enough space for our family of 5, would rent again. Tom was very nice, flexible, and easy to work with. The only criticism I have is that toilet paper was supposed to be provided (as mentioned in the listing) and was not. If I had know in advance, no biggie and would have bought proper paper for the trailer system, but there was none. We will know for next time.
