Steve J.

août 20213

This isn't the first campervan we have hired, and although we were impressed with the layout, the items that were supplied (camping tables, chairs, microwave, kettle, toaster, tea towel, washing up liquid, cloth, brush/shovel etc), we were disappointed with a few things. The van may have looked clean to glance over, but it wasn't. The cupboards were filthy, the cleaning was very basic, and given COVID i would have assumed they would have fully scrubbed the van in between hires. They provide "glasses" which may seem a great touch, but they were wrapped in blue plastic (not well), so by the time the van was driven from the hire firm to home, 20 mins away (to pack up and clean the van) 1 glass had already broken. We took the decision to remove all glasses and plates from the van and replace with plastic (as it is much quieter when driving, and less likely to break). A few of the windows were broken at the catch, so when you opened them they just came off the runners. The footwell going in and out of the van had been cracked, and every time it rained a flood of water poured in the van from the roof, meaning a nice cold shower coming in and out. and it soaked the floor at the entrance. The fridge was the smallest I have seen, given it is a 7 bunk camper, you really can't get much in it. We had put milk in the door before we left ,and as soon as we started driving the fridge door swung open (the catch was broken), so we had to go back home and get some tape to keep the fridge door closed while we were out and about. On the booking it mentions "optional bike rack or TV" which we read as choose one or the other, but it wasn't. We paid for the TV (although there was a bike rack on the back anyway), but the TV never worked as it had no TV Arial, we mentioned this when we returned the van, but not even an offer of our money back for giving us a TV that didn't work. And this has been the only campervan which hasn't had any safety nets on the upper bunks, so we had to purchase bed guards for our young kids. The van doesn't come with an oven, but has a double hob. Cooking space is very tight and make sure you take your own draining rack for dishes, one that is small enough to sit on top of the sink if you are trying to cook.
