2012 Ford Raptor
Uprated Ford Raptor Gen1 in Off Road spec. Perfect 4x4 for desert trails and under the stars camping. Roof tent (iKamper skycamp) which can be put up in 90 seconds (although it always takes me about 4 mins!).Potential to have a (short) third person in central bucket seat in the rear while off road (this seat only has a 5 point harness that is not road legal). Uprated Bilstein rear suspension, tires, increased ground clearance, brakes, front and rear light bars, Lowrance GPS, 4 point harnesses for safer off roading.Ask if you need other stuff, I’ve got various bits. If you provide enough notice (more than 48hrs) I can probably get milk or provisions etc. to put in the vehicle if that helps. This is your trip and I want to help make it as easy as possible for you. I’m not too concerned with v. minor damage (if you catch a rim on a rock or put a small scratch on the paintwork) so you don’t have to worry as much as some other rentals perhaps. The vehicle takes 91 gas so please keep the receipts to show you have used the correct fuel when/if you do fill it up. Feel free to leave it with the fuel level you end up with - I will fuel it back up and charge at cost from the deposit (hence the extra $100 there). If you are leaving your vehicle with me, it will be off road on a private drive. Services available for internal parking and charging if your vehicle is electric - please bring cable (I have Tesla one).Ce qui est inclusEquipped with jack & spare tire. First aid kit.Airport pickup from San Diego or Carlsbad possible upon request. Delivery within 40 miles possible.Outside parking of your vehicle for duration of trip if you pick up from my house.RecommandationsFrom California.com:3. ANZA-BORREGO DESERT STATE PARK OFF-ROADING
Get your SUV ready to explore one of the best desert parks in SoCal for backroad adventures. The roads at Anza-Borrego are easily accessible year-round, but they can get a little too hot during the peak summer months.
Canyon Sin Nombre, Truckhaven Hills, and Oriflamme Canyon are a few of the better-known spots in the park. Drive along badlands, caves, canyons, and wildflowers. For free overnight 4x4 camping in California, check out Blair Valley and Coyote Canyon—you’ll have full seclusion and gorgeous dark skies.5. JOSHUA TREE OFF-ROAD CAMPING
Get away from the popular rock formations and go further into the desert to explore the true beauty of the large SoCal desert. Make sure to stay on the established roads designated for 4x4 driving to avoid harming the desert ecosystem. The park doesn’t allow visitors to camp wherever they want, so make sure to book a spot at one of the designated grounds.
For a fun discovery, drive along Covington Flat to get to some of the largest Joshua trees and pinyon pines in the park.6. LAKE ARROWHEAD CAMPING
Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino National Forest is a scenic spot with plenty of OHV camping areas. The most popular spot for off-roading here is the Pinnacles OHV Staging Area. The nearest campground to the off-road trails is the North Shore Campground—which is also located right by the lake. When you're done 4x4 camping in California, stretch your legs and trek the North Shore National Recreational Trail.10. DUMONT DUNES OFF-ROAD CAMPING
Dumont Dunes in Mojave offers a classic off-road camping experience in the California deserts. Over 7,000 acres in size, the remote location, and variety of terrain here attract thrill-seekers of all kinds.
Primitive camping is permitted almost anywhere on the flats, but there are very few amenities. Make sure to bring your own water and food to avoid facing unforeseen challenges in the dry and arid desert. Autres points à signalerTire damage charged at cost to repair. No smoking. Vehicle has a GPS tracker installed (trackable via website login by request) and sadly the Outdoorsy insurance does not cover Mexico so the vehicle must stay within USA or Canada. Gas required is 91.
