Communication

Firstly, I would like to commend the great initial communication. Your team was very responsive and helpful when I first reached out about the rental.
However, I encountered several issues that I believe should be addressed to improve the experience for future customers:
Pickup Location Confusion: Upon arriving close to the town of Durango, I confirmed the pickup location as documented in the app. I was then directed to another location, which made me feel uneasy. This sudden change raised concerns about the legitimacy and safety of the new location.
Incorrect Trailer Hitch Size: The trailer hitch size was not disclosed correctly, necessitating a last-minute purchase of a $70 hitch. This was particularly inconvenient as I was traveling with three small children. Upon arrival, the new hitch didn’t align with the pin. The representative took my hitch, stating it was "for collateral," and provided the appropriate hitch. This should have been handled correctly from the beginning, avoiding unnecessary expense and inconvenience.
Trailer Condition Review: While we looked over the trailer and I documented it on video, the representative only mentioned a couple of noted imperfections.
Return Coordination: I informed the representative that we would return the trailer early. However, I received an early morning text on the day of the intended return, which I found a bit aggressive. As I was on a relaxing trip, I preferred not to be disturbed.
Early Return and Inspection: I returned the trailer a day early at 12:30 PM. We again talked and walked through the exterior and interior of the trailer, and I mentioned I was doing a video walk-through to ensure it was returned in great condition. He approved and said it was fine. I asked if I needed to sign anything, and he said no. That was the end of the transaction. I forgot to return the keys and turned back to promptly return the keys. There was not any issue when I left.
Post-Return Harassment: The next day, while I was working and unavailable, the representative sent several text messages to my personal cell phone, claiming there was damage to the trailer. This was after he had approved its condition upon return. I believe this is an attempt to file a dispute and claim my $750 deposit, especially considering he is now asking for more money than the deposit covers. Two days after I returned the trailer, I get a notice he submitted a damage claim - after he agreed everything was returned in great condition. This harassment and false claim in unacceptable and unprofessional.
I refuse to let someone take advantage of me and attempt to scam more money. I will be emailing customer service the video walkthroughs and close-up photos of the exterior where he claimed there was damage or scratches.
Additionally, if preventing scratches on the trailer and guest vehicles is a concern, the branches at the entrance and exit of the trailer lot should be trimmed. My Lexus was scratched from driving through these branches. Should I be considering filing a claim against him for not maintaining a clear area for vehicles to enter and exit the trailer area?
Lastly, the representative saw my dog and assumed she caused scratches on the trailer exterior. My dog recently underwent surgeries and was always tied up several feet from the trailer while in use, with a cone on her neck to prevent licking her stitches. Neither of my dogs were within reach of the exterior of the trailer door as claimed and I was always within sight or within reach of my dogs while at the campground our near the trailer.
I request for my $750 deposit to be returned immediately and for the claim to be dismissed. Then, due to the poor service with then run around about the hitch size, the lack of water, the early return, and then the harassment for a false claim, I request 50% of my money to be returned.
I hope you take this feedback constructively and make the necessary adjustments to prevent future customers from experiencing similar issues. Thank you for your attention to these matters.
Also, one reason for the earlier return is the trailer was not filled up completely with water. After washing a few rounds of kid’s bowls and glasses and a few toilet flushes, the camper ran out of water. He mentioned it holds 25 gallons, be we didn’t use all that and never turned on the shower or left water running.
