You can tow this with a V6 like a Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator and can go off the grid with this rig. We have used this at the beaches in Swfl to the mountains of WV, NC, and TN.Can be pulled by Most SUVs or bigger.Often we will just go down to the causeway and pull the Opus up right beside the beach, throw the jet ski in the water, and have a great day with family and friends. That is the great thing about this trailer, it can go anywhere.The 2023 Opus OP 15 Caravan is an off-grid, off-road beast that will allow you to go to locations other campers can't even think about. This is easily one of the best off-road campers available in the US.This is 5,000 lbs. You must have a hitch and vehicle rated to tow this much weight.Plan for an hour-long walk-through of all features at pick-up.Detailed Cleaning is required upon return. All sewage and Greywater tanks must be flushed with photo evidence of proper disposal.The Opus OP 15 is an off-roading, hybrid caravan built with tough luxury in mind. It supplies a spacious, high-quality bamboo interior and gives plenty of room for the whole family, both in storage and living space.Sleeps 4 comfortably with a king bed and 2 bunks for the kiddos (my kids are 11 and 8 and sleep just fine).Holds 63 gallons of fresh water plus a grey and black tank. The unique setup with a king bed and bunk beds, also makes this great for families. Our Opus Caravan has upgraded electronics and batteries which makes this an ideal trailer to take to a remote campsite or place with “no hookups”. Most family RV campgrounds are packed together onto of each other. Recommendations are to take this to any local Hip Camp site, State Forrest Camp Sites, or “primitive” camp sites in State Parks, or try out a more family-oriented campground and you can get away from the crowds with a basic site. However, this trailer is just as perfectly suited for a family campground - where you can plug into power and be able to run the air conditioner unit during a hot summer trip. With the smaller size, you can get access to better camp spots. You also do not need a truly dedicated RV campsite. All you will need is access to either 30AMP or regular 110 outlet and water hose. The trailer is off-road capable and can be leveled, so you don't need a flat/paved RV spot like the othersRecommendation - If you have done plenty of tent camping at various parks and family campgrounds - try out a HipCamp or venture into a primitive campsite in a state forrest to get away from the crowds. Most HipCamp sites are “primitive” and have little to no amenities, so the Opus Caravan will allow you to camp and access these sites in comfort with your toilet, shower, and power! Most owners are accommodating and can give you access to water if you ask. The idea would be to locate a cool site and try to communicate with owners ahead of time to get access to water via a regular garden hose. That way you can save on the weight and tow the trailer “dry” until you get to camp and then fill up on water.Autres points à signalerYour vehicle must have a towing capacity of at least 5,100 LBS, a tongue weight capacity of 410 LBS, a 2” standard receiver, and a standard 7-pin wiring harness plug. If you don’t have an electronic brake controller we can supply you with a portable plug (you must then opt for the upgraded Overland Package). If you have a lighter-duty truck, SUV, or 4x4 that is limited to the 5K towing capacity - then you would plan to drive/tow the trailer “dry” and arrange for an appropriate type of campsite with necessary hookups or facilities. The GVWR of the trailer is just under 6,400. If you have a more capable tow rig, then you can load this trailer up with the necessary water and supplies and get off-grid camping. It is possible to easily drain the fresh water and grey water tanks before departure, and just be left with the 10-gallon black tank/weight on your ride home until you can hit a dump station. If you are interested in doing some “boondocking” or off-grid camping, we can give you some recommendations based on your vehicle setup. If you are headed to a normal campground with hook-ups - a 30AMP hook-up or regular 110 outlets will work fine. Although the camper is set up quite nicely for Overlanding, you must be hooked up to shore power to be able to use the AC Unit.
