AVOID THIS HOST!Upon arrival, we immediately had to reach out about the AC not working. The thermostat read 90 degrees. The hosts response was it was working when he left it. We ended up borrowing a fan from a friend and the luckily the temps only got to 75 degrees the next few days. The awning was also not working. Again, the hosts response was it was working when he left it. He admitted to extending the awning on set up but pulled it back in because it was windy, likely contributing to the awning being crooked and no longer extending. But he is trying to blame us for “damages” that he caused. He also claims we damaged the electric jack but we paid extra for him to deliver and fully set up the camper so we never touched the jack. Luckily I have proof of the awning being crooked before our arrival through a picture my family sent me after the host set up.My family and friends who I have been camping with for 20+ years were at nearby sites when the host delivered and set up the camper. They had to urge him to park the camper straighter and set up the sewage, as he originally was not. The camper was still crooked, parked too far back and unlevel. He did not properly set up the sewage with an elbow connector. The jack was not properly seated on the ground, blocks or cones. He did not stake the outdoor rug down and it almost blew into a neighbors campsite. The host never did a walk through with me or exchange any keys. All of the above leads me to believe the host is not familiar with campers and does not know how to properly set them up. The damages he caused from his own lack of knowledge should not be placed on innocent guests who are trying to enjoy a weekend of camping. I feel he is trying to scam me into paying for his damages and would warn others not to fall victim. We tried to communicate respectfully and effectively with the host and we are astonished at the way he is handling this.
