I'm Tyler Johnson, a 30-year-old who was fortunate enough to grow up on the breathtaking beaches of Michigan. I love spending time in nature and exploring all the wonders it has to offer. Whether it's kayaking, setting up camp under the starry night sky, or simply breathing in the fresh air, being outdoors brings me an incredible sense of peace and the people I spend it with. After graduating from WMU, I embarked on a remote work journey that has allowed me to indulge my adventurous spirit to the fullest. It's been such a blessing to have the flexibility to venture far and wide, including some of my absolute favorite places right here in Michigan—Traverse City and Mackinaw hold great joy in my life.

We had a wonderful experience with this rental. The host was responsive and the camper van was great. For first time renters, we will definitely be return renters for any upcoming trips.

We had a wonderful trip and the camper van was super easy to drive. Tyler was super responsive anytime I had a question or needed help! He's a very nice, friendly guy and was always super helpful.

Great trip / adventure with this rig. Tyler was super responsive with any questions we had oth before and during the trip. He set us up for warmth in cold weather conditions, and everything went smooth. No problems.

Rating this experience with 2 stars primarily because the host maintained good communication as promised. However, this trip turned out to be exceptionally stressful, marking it as the most challenging journey I've ever undertaken.The van, unfortunately, did not live up to its promised functionality. Despite a major electrical error that manifested after the trip began, the host assured us it was "mechanically fine." Reluctantly, we continued our journey, only for the issue to worsen significantly 10 hours away from home. Taking matters into our own hands, we spent personal funds to have the van diagnosed at a dealership. To our dismay, the host suggested returning home to find an alternative mode of transportation, offering no assistance in securing another option. Given my work contract and the imperative need to be at a specific location by a certain time, adding over 20 hours to the trip was not a viable choice.Numerous other complications arose during the journey, including a malfunctioning propane stovetop in extremely cold temperatures, a cracked windshield disclosed by the host but posing a ticket-worthy offense, a burnt-out headlight, lack of heat in the van except when running for extended periods, a non-functional vent fan, inoperative windshield washer fluid, and a makeshift "bed" that proved impractical.The litany of issues forced us to spend only two out of eight nights in the van. Concerns for safety in inclement weather and cold temperatures led us to seek refuge in hotels for the majority of the trip. We also opted to rent a car once to our destination, as the dealership informed us it was not safe to drive after dark with the electrical concerns.If you're contemplating renting this vehicle, I strongly recommend making sure the van has been thoroughly inspected by a certified dealership with a full work-up and diagnostics. Additionally, I advise against renting this van during colder months. And bringing something else to sleep on, such as a foam topper or a blow up mattress.We are presently awaiting Outdoorsy's assessment to ascertain fault in this situation, as the incurred stress greatly outweighed the cost.

Tyler is a responsive, responsible and fun person to work with. (A+ human) The van is 100% as advertised and a fair value. As first-time campers were looking for adventure and this rental gave us everything we wanted.
A few tips that served us well:
-We packed extra blankets that kept us warm and comfortable.
-Tyler removed the extra seats and that gave us TONS of additional storage.
