I wanted to leave an honest review since we based our choice of RV on the reviews we read for this rental. I hope to help other renters avoid the nightmare we just endured.I rented this RV in mid-June with my adult son and his girlfriend. I drove up from Florida, and we met the host, Nick, the night before to get acquainted with the RV. When we viewed the RV, it was nothing like the pictures portrayed. The front seats and the dining seats were ripped and disgusting. There was a pair of underwear on the kitchen counter, and Nick claimed he had cleaned the RV but forgot to grab the underwear—yuk. Despite this, we continued with the tour.I asked about the stove, and Nick said he didn't like us using the indoor stove because it made the RV smell. He had a large outdoor cooktop that ran on propane, which he wanted us to use. When I asked where the propane was, he said we had to bring our own, which was not communicated to us. I would have brought a tank from home if I had known. We had no choice but to use the indoor stove, which did work.Moving on with the tour, his ad claimed he had all the supplies we would ever need. However, there were no plates, no cups except for solo cups left by previous renters, no pots or pans, and no cooking utensils except for a grill spatula and tongs. On a positive note, the camping chairs he provided were nice, and there was an outdoor table which was dirty but functional. We picked up the RV the next morning. The reason for the 1-star rating is that the engine ran and got us to our destination three hours away. When we arrived, we set up the camper. I purchased cleaning supplies and cleaned the RV thoroughly since there was dirt and hair all over the place. I started the generator since we were primitive camping. Nick had told us the generator had just been serviced and the carburetor had been replaced, so it should run great. However, the generator ran for 15 minutes and shut off. Nothing we tried would allow the generator to run more than 5 to 10 minutes before shutting off.We called Nick, who said he had no idea how to help us (and this host works at Camping World, by the way) and to run the engine and the front AC for cooling. He said he would reimburse us for the gas we used and then stated, "I gotta go," and hung up. The front AC barely cooled the RV a few degrees, and it was over 87 degrees in the RV at 5 pm. Fortunately, we ran into another camper who had RV Repair written on his truck. This wonderful couple told us the generator could not be fixed due to an issue with the governor for the carburetor not being adjusted correctly. They rented us a spare generator, which was a lifesaver. With temperatures over 92 degrees, we would have been miserable without it.Nick did not call us once during the entire four days to check on us. When we were heading home, Nick called. I explained everything that had happened. We agreed he would reimburse us for the $155 we spent on the generator (I provided Nick with an invoice for the $155) and what we spent on gas running the AC. We ran the AC half of Thursday and Sunday night and morning since the RV repairman left the campground on Sunday. Nick and I verbally agreed to $45 for gas, about 1/4 of a tank. Nick asked if I could leave him a good review if he refunded us the $200. I reluctantly agreed. We cleaned the RV, dropped it off, and sent Nick the invoice for the generator rental. Two days passed with no contact. My son called Nick, who said he would not pay us the $45 for gas because he thought we were lying and hung up. I called him after work, and he denied the conversation he had with my son, saying he told my son he would pay the full amount and to contact Outdoorsy. I contacted Outdoorsy right after. They were extremely helpful, and my service rep, Victor, was awesome. Victor said he would contact Nick and clear up the misunderstanding. Nick did not answer for about a day, and when he did, he denied agreeing to the $200 and said he was only paying the $155. Outdoorsy has refunded us the $155 and our deposit. As far as I'm concerned, this review is not breaking my agreement with Nick because the full amount we verbally agreed to was not refunded. I also feel that this RV is being misrepresented on Outdoorsy. The pictures are not current, and the ad is misleading. Nick is not helpful or kind, does not keep his word, and lacks integrity and honesty. I have pictures to prove my point, but Outdoorsy said I cannot post pictures in my review at this time. I have forwarded the pictures to their customer service department.I would not rent from Nick in the future. If you have an issue with his rental, he was unable to help and failed to extend enough support. He is not knowledgeable, even though he works (as a salesman, I think) at an RV dealership. I am also assuming Camping World service replaced the carburetor, and that was not done correctly either. Bottom line: don't believe the pictures or the descriptions/amenities in this ad. Renter beware!
