Matthew’s vintage ‘93 Dodge van was perfect for exploring the island of Oahu. It was very spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed our time exploring and camping on the island with this van. That being said, it is an older van so expect it to have its quirks. The A/C does not work and the listing does mention that. However, we didn’t really need the A/C at all. We drove with the front windows down and we slept with the small side windows open (they are screened so bugs stay out). The fan inside the van helped keep the temperature pleasant at night and it was necessary. I imagine the lack of A/C would have been a problem if it rained a lot during our stay, but luckily, we experienced amazing weather! The fuel gauge doesn’t work so you have to keep that in mind and be aware of it. The van had everything we could need to get the most out of our trip on the island. We used the HipCamp App to find places to stay.

Fantastic experience both with the van and host! We had the van for a week and it ran flawlessly without aby issues. It was cosy and exactly what we needed.

Communication with Matthew was pretty good from start to finish. The Van is very nice and comfortable, it had everything we need. The only thing was the fridge was not working properly, it would turn off sometimes. Also because its an old van, the oil and petrol pointers seem to not be working properly. However, we had a great trip and experience and would recommend this van!

The Van was a lovely experience. Smoothed out some things that came up, with Matt's assistance and was able to even extend our trip one more day! If you're looking for some simple 90's nostalgia while cruising the island- this is the place to go. THANK YOU MATT for sharing your Van babe with us!

Our experience began as follows: Upon our arrival, I requested that Matt pick us up as he had offered during the booking process. However, communication issues arose, requiring multiple exchanges before he ultimately fulfilled his commitment. The van provided was quite old, with limited amenities. For example, the refrigerator was completely uncharged, and I question whether Matt has the appropriate cables for connecting to a power source. Although he mentioned the van had two batteries, he admitted to being uncertain about their condition.

Matt was a fantastic host, easy pickup and dropoff and his van is the perfect way to enjoy Oahu! Lots of thoughtful conveniences and everything worked great.

Matt was great. Easy to get a hold of. Van was clean and comfy. Would recommend and book again. Great way to see the island and wind down every night.
