Unfortunately yes, we did have to charge a cleaning fee. We try to keep our rates low by not charging a cleaning fee and do expect renters to return the RV in the same condition as received. We make this very clear in not only our listing, but also in conversation when going over camping details with each renter, as well as providing a very detailed check out instruction list left inside the camper of what we expect to avoid any confusion. We were lenient and decided to charge $75 of our normal $150 cleaning fee, making sure to provide them with pictures and a short explanation of why. Both sinks were left dirty, counters, stove top and table were not wiped down, fridge was not wiped out and had food left inside, microwave had grease and food stuck on the cooking plate, used coffee grounds were left in the coffee maker, coffee pot was left dirty and not washed out, crumbs left on the dining seat area, uno cards left under the table and either a large blood splat or chocolate on the wall. The bathroom soap dispenser did get broken as well (no big deal, didn't charge for it)Yes we do follow Covid guidelines and sanitize the entire RV from head to toe. (Walls and ceiling included) As you can imagine this takes a long time on top of mopping, vacuuming and deep cleaning after every stay. (Which is why we have so many great reviews on how impeccably clean our RV is, because yes we spend at least 4 hrs OCD cleaning... not including the time and money of washing all the bedding and towels at a laundromat)We have never had an issue or complaint from renters asked to respect our RV and rules for cleaning up after themselves. The "30 seconds of work" unfortunately was not done and so we charge accordingly per our rules and rates agreed upon when booked through our Outdoorsy listing. And some happily pay the $150 cleaning fee so they do not have to take care of clean up themselves. But I will let all 16 of our glowing 5 star reviews speak for itself. What we offer vs other Outdoorsy owners does not even compare. Fully stocked with everything you can think of and everything done for you mobile Airbnb" camping experience... with customer service our number one priority. We always go above and beyond and absolutely love hosting and spoiling our families who choose to book with usThe Spencer family seemed happy and very grateful for everything, they even left behind a thank you note and apologized for breaking the soap dispenser… So we're at least glad they had a wonderful 4 night stay. It's unfortunate that they feel we took advantage of them
