North Battleford lies in southwestern Saskatchewan, two hours west of Prince Albert and an hour and a half northwest of Saskatoon. This historic town is bordered on the south by the North Saskatchewan River, which separates North Battleford from its smaller sibling city of Battleford. Finlayson Island lies between the two towns and is home to a large, beautiful nature preserve.

Like many other Canadian towns, North Battleford owes its existence to the railroad. It was incorporated in 1913 and has since played a significant role as a distribution center for Saskatchewan’s lumber, farming, and food exports. The Battlefords are characterized by rolling prairies, lakes, and rivers. The best time for camping in North Battleford will generally be between early May to late September when the temperatures are high and most of the campgrounds are open. But many campers bring their Saskatchewan rental RV to North Battleford year-round for the abundance of recreational opportunities. Book an RV in North Battleford and see what the city has to offer.
