5Carlos arrived ahead of schedule, set up quickly, ran through the vehicle operations and was done. Great work. I was impressed by the professionalism and the efficiency. The removal of the RV was just as efficient.

5We had an amazing experience renting from Juan Carlos and his wife Sally! The RV was spotless, well maintained, super comfortable, and exactly as described. The delivery and pick up process went smoothly and hosts are incredibly helpful and responsive from start to finish. They were both so kind and helpful—quick to respond and made the whole process easy. We even saw them helping out other folks who got stuck on the beach—just shows the kind of caring, awesome people they are. Highly recommend renting from them. Will definitely rent from them again. Thank you both!

5Great experience. Juan was very helpful and professional. My first time renting an RV and he made it easy. He was also available immediately as I had another cancel on me earlier. Great RV, clean, fridge, heater and AC works well. The bed was very comfy too. Will definitely rent from him again.

1Beware: Quoted price is far from actual paid. Better off going with more reputable groups, even if at a higher quoted price. I am a firm believer that in any business transaction, the beginning is equally important to how the deal is closed. I had a wonderful time on my trip, but the way Juan ended it left a sour taste in my mouth, actually in a very foul mood. Of course, he was very quick to respond to inquiries before the rental commitment, but when the deal is closing? Nothing. No response, at all. Just a quick "Here is a charge for this," and no response. Juan and his wife seemed like lovely, hard-working people. We had a nice conversation, I thought, when they picked up the RV. During the convo, I asked them how the security deposit will work. Do they anticipate additional charges. Please check out how I cleaned everything up. They responded that it was not enough time to go through everything and assess; so I let it go. Then, I got a text on my drive home that I would be charged an ADDITIONAL $100 for the outdoor, cheap, overused, dirty straw mat they provided (NOT THE ONE in the picture for this rental - the pictured one is MUCH nicer, and there are two mats, it appears). I texted to ask why the charge was so much. The mat was all worn - and we simply did not mention it because my husband wasn't sure if that was the condition upon receipt of the mat, or the birds picked at it. I did note that there will little, brittle straw flakes on the sand. As background, the mat is advertised for use in front of the entrance, to be used with the table they provide. The one they brought me was a cheap, dirty $15-20 mat that had MUCH use (you know the kind of thin mat you would fold, not the thick outdoor ones that roll) - so we used it at the bottom of our tent to provide a layer against the sand. Pieces of the now brittle straw fell off, (because it was old! We've all had these mats before - they simply do not last - again, it is not the one pictured on the listing). Total loss of good faith. Total loss of my trust, future business, and recs to my friends. Hope the $100 was worth it for you. More info: I had a conversation before the rental contract. I said we are a family of 6. Juan said that though the RV is listed as for four, there should be enough room for all of us; he asked if the kids were young. I said, "No, I have 4 teenage boys." He said it would be tight, but enough. Then I asked if we needed a generator. He said Yes. Charge. (I ended up NOT NEEDING IT - maybe 20-30 minutes a day max to charge a computer and warm up water for coffee - could have just brought my battery pack). Finally, I told him that we would be going to Jalama BEACH (there's a reason this is capitalized), and I asked if he is willing. All yes. I paid the delivery fee. Then the night before he said instead of the promised 3:00, he would be there between 4-5 (I said okay... though I know now that if this were my problem, I would have been charged for the inconvenience). I was more gracious though, and said that is fine. Background: Though I have had 100% fantastic experiences with multiple Airbnb and Vrbo rentals, this is my first RV experience - I let him know this, he said "Don't worry. I want you to have a great time." He offered to go off the platform and give me a better rate - but of course, this made me leery and feeling unprotected, so I respectfully declined. Anyways, he arrived with the RV. There was no way my boys could sleep in it. Thankfully, just in case this happened, I brought our tent and two sleeping bags. (Forgot the tarp, so used the cheap mat instead to offer my boys a layer against the sand, under the tent). He also told me I had to clean up the RV or there would be an additional charge (I always left my rentals clean, but afraid of yet an additional charge, I made sure I EVEN cleaned the floors and the stove!) Told me I should have told him it was at a beach (um...is that not assumed when I paid for the delivery fee to Jalama BEACH?) - so there would be an additional charge. All this ended up being $150 more added to my original amount paid for the three nights. Okay, fine, so I agreed. We were dry camping, and he told me there is a dumping fee, I knew this so that was okay...and he assured me that there is enough water for a few showers, dishwashing, and bathroom use, just to turn the water off if not actively using; and if I let the fresh water go to empty, there will be a $750 charge to fix the water pump. You better believe that this newbie was freaked out about this, so we DID NOT use the shower. My family was only responsible for one dinner and one breakfast (we were there with multiple families), so I washed the pots from this (all ingredients were prewashed); I did not let my boys use the bathroom (only for middle of the night pee breaks and for teeth brushing in the morning) - still the water ran out. So glad I did not take his advice and take a shower. Can you imagine? Anyways - I paid the quoted price. When he picked up, I asked if he could cut me some slack on the generator fee I paid in the quote because the RV battery was enough for my needs. He laughed it off...but I understood that he wouldn't. He even said that is why I should have gone off the Outdoorsy platform and paid him cash instead. Ok, whatever. Then the mat thing? RIDICULOUS! So, on my $1000 security deposit, he took an additional $250. For the 3 nights, I had to pay the amount I was trying to save on by going with him in the first place. For this amount? I could have gotten a better, bigger, newer RV. I was trying to stay $1,000 or below on the rental - so I didn't go with the other places...trust me, I am totally regretting that now. I should have just paid more from the get go not to have this sub par experience. How ironic that for the better ones I would have paid less... after all these unbelievable charges. Look, $150 additional fee, I okayed it... $100? No, I won't go hungry - but too bad you can not be more honest on the true recovery charge of the old, dirty, cheap swap meet straw mat. Hope the additional $100 was worth it. Thanks for ending my trip on a sour note for me.

5Amazing experience! Juan delivered it right to my house and gave me options on where he could park it. He made sure it was level and showed us all the amenities! My friends stayed in it and said it was awesome. Would definitely rent from him and his wife again!! Also side note we were moving in a bed frame into my house when he showed up and he not only waited till we were done but jumped in to help!
