5This was the first time I had ever rented an RV and found the experience a real adventure. Although the RV was a little older it was exceptionally clean and performed very well. We rented this vehicle for ten days to explore Northern BC and enjoyed every aspect of our trip. Due to complications we were three days late picking up the RV however the company was kind enough to extend our rental at the tail end without charging extra fees. The only glitch is they have to put together a small manual just reminding us how to refuel the water tanks, turn on and off all the electronic devices. A fifteen minute tutorial for a first time user is great if only we could remember what all those switches, bells and whistles were for ten minutes after the lesson. Fortunately at all the camp site we visited other campers were only too happy to assist us, especially when emptying the grey water system for the first time. Overall it was a fantastic experience that two old seventy year olds will always treasure. Thank you RVR Kelowna.

1Unfortunately I can't give a better rating, even though the staff are friendly and accommodating. Beginning with a staff shortage, the early pick up that had been arranged resulted in an over 2 hour delay to the start of our trip. As we were doing the walk thru, Marta remembered that the unit didn't charge the rv battery while driving and that we would have to use the generator (which uses the same petrol as the Ford chassis - and therefore a way more expensive option for us even though they waived the overage fee on the generator use). 250 km in to the drive and the Engine warning light came on. After checking the fluid levels and everything we could think of, called the roadside assistance and they could alleviate some of our concerns, but said it would need to be checked out by a mechanic - but was ok to drive. When we were making up the beds, we found there were only 2 mattresses for the over cab bunk - not 3 as are standard. We noticed some water in one of the basins in the back when we opened it up (but I thought it was just water from the hose that was hanging in the compartment). And then a damp floor on the right side of the bed, but again chalked it up to a wet bathing suit or towel perhaps? The campsite didn't have a water hook up so we used the tank system. On the last day we travelled back towards RVR so that we could bring it back early the following morning so they could get the engine checked, before sending it out again to another customer, That campsite was on city water so we took advantage and connected. After a short time, there was a stream of water running out from under the bed. Immediately, we disconnected the water and mopped up as best we could. But in hindsight, this explained the water in the back compartment basin and the damp flooring - this had happened before. Soooo, not really a stellar experience, The older units require more frequent maintenance - and I don't believe this one should have been rented out to anyone, with the battery issue. I'm not sure if the water problem was known beforehand and maybe we just got unlucky, and that previous renters hadn't brought it to the attention of RVR. We managed to have a good time regardless, but we had much higher expectations for our $300+/per night overall costs, plus the higher than normal petrol bills (high prices notwithstanding.)

5We thoroughly enjoyed our 1st weekend RV'ing. The team at RVR was super helpful and responsive while we were away and if we had questions. They even reached out over the weekend to see how we were doing. The particular unit we rented had a few 'scars and ticks' but overall a great experience.
