The vehicle is cleaned before each trip, but because this is Hawaii and the car is mainly used for camping, and off-grid nature trips, a small amount of sand may still remain in areas like the floor mats or hard-to-reach spots even after cleaning.

Should I worry about wildlife?
R.
Not really. Hawaii is generally very safe for camping and outdoor trips — no bears, no large predators, and no native land snakes. This vehicle is mainly used for outdoor trips, so even with regular cleaning, a little sand or an occasional small dead insect can still appear in hard-to-reach areas after outdoor use.

Should I return the vehicle clean?

Yes, please return the vehicle in the same condition as you received it. McKinley Car Wash is about 5 minutes from the pickup/drop-off location and usually opens around 7 AM.

Where can I legally camp with the FJ on Oʻahu?
R.
You can book legal campsites on private property through Hipcamp.com, which is a convenient option for scenic stays and last-minute availability. You can also camp at permitted locations such as Malaekahana, Kualoa, Bellows, and selected city or state campgrounds. Permits are required.
