Van Pablo
Van Pablo

Doug may not be the most beautiful van from the outside, but he's got a fresh new interior with lots of work put into the engine and mechanical components in the last year so you can rest assured she'l get you where you need to be. The interior features a nice deep sink, space heater, two brand new marine batteries, propane stove, plenty of storage, a pop up kitchen table and a wholeee lot of character.
Not to mention, Doug also runs on Propane! This will help you save loads on fuel when driving around a rolling sofa from the 80s. He gets 600-700 kms per fill (roughly $150-180 to fill) and drives like a dream on his brand new tires.
Doug has a (almost queen) sized bed that folds out from the couch (which also has 3 seatbelts for passengers), and a high top conversion that stands 6'2 tall so you don't have to crawl around your home on wheels like a gremlin.
Doug comes with utensils, cookware, bedding & linens, and an extreme cool factor.
Additionally, if you intent to go snowboarding/skiing, or surfing, Doug can be equipped with roof mounted ropes to hand up said gear.
He may also be optioned with a 4 bike rack if you so choose.
The Rockies are no stranger to Doug, travelling through Banff, Lake Louise, or making the trek to Jasper are only some of the breathtaking destinations that this bad boy can take you. If you're feeling very adventurous, Doug would even be up to the task to venture from coast to coast, for a second time!
Being 40 years old, Doug does have a few quirks that should be acknowledged.
Such as a sliding door that can occasionally be tricky to open,
A sliding bed that can occasionally be tricky to slide,
and windows that are a bit of a workout to roll up.
Additionally it's important to remember that Doug runs on PROPANE!
This means that he cannot be filled up at every gas station, however Canada luckily has a very large network of propane fill locations, hence you should be able get to pretty much anywhere you would like to go.
Some base rules for Doug:
- No smoking inside Doug please
- No Off-roading (Doug is a great highway cruiser but does not fair well with harsh roads, trust me, I've tried)
- Dogs are allowed, although it can be tight so up to you...

We had such a fantastic time on our trip with Doug! This van was the absolute perfect base to call home as we explored Banff + Jasper and we are so happy with our experience. Jean-Luc has put so much appreciated effort into making Doug super comfy, stylish and practical, and was very quick to respond to any and all of our questions. We found the propane to be easy to navigate, and quite fuel efficient and affordable given how much travel we did. We 100% recommend booking Doug for your next adventure - we miss him already and look forward to hopefully exploring with him again soon!

Doug the van is like an old friend, he will never let you down! Its vintage look is amazing, its engine is very efficient and the inside is very practical.
The only downside is that it runs on propane, which is a bit expensive right now.
