RecommandationsVisit Wears Valley, Gatlinburg attractions, Townsend and the Apple Valley (best coffee beans ever), go eat at The Old Mill and the Townsend Social. Have fun at The island in Pigeon Forge. Go see Anakeesta, tube the Little River, drive through Cades Cove, hike, bike and most importantly...relax. The camping lifestyle is awesome!Autres points à signalerRecently we got a less than stellar review from “Rhonda”. We really hope to always provide a great camping experience for all of our guests, but sometimes things happen!… In her case, it was a combination of imperfect time/place and overall situation - paired with hurricane Helene. First, we have gotten away from renting to anyone anywhere without full hookups… but Rhonda assured us she had lots of experience camping in these conditions. Against our better judgement we agreed to deliver to the Smoky Mountain National Park for her and her husband. The park has no WiFi or cellphone coverage -so coordination is a challenge. They used a 5000BTU generator that blew all of the fuses… when the fuse situation was fixed, they used our generator- but used too many electric items at once and drained the battery. We filled the water tanks for them so there was plenty of water for them to use, but they didn’t turn on the water pump. Then they had to evacuate their campground because of Helene. It was A LOT. It’s extremely unfortunate that they had a bad stay.
This is why we will no longer be saying yes to any requests from “experienced” campers to boondock! Thanks for understanding! We want everyone to have a great time… and there are simply no guarantees when there is no water, no electric, no WiFi or no cell coverage!Ok… now back to information for your great trip! -Items to bring toiletries, use RV designated toilet paper only, get wet in shower and flip the water saver lever. 6 gallon tanks heat fast but you have to conserve the water. It’s easy to be comfortable for 10-15 minutes if your wise with your water consumption. Use the space heater on cold nights with thermostat and gas as backup on 65 or so. Gas is expensive and doesn’t last long with the heat going. (5-7 days typically)

We have 6 cats, 2 dogs and 6 children so life is busy. We love to camp and our RV is the perfect size to pull with most trucks while still having plenty of space and amenities to make for a great outing. The KOA in Townsend staying on the river has been our favorite trip so far.
