Stubby is my baby. I bought him in November 2022 fully converted. He runs great and lives at 6,000 ft elevation. He has climbed a 3,500-foot mountain like a champ. Stubby can be lived completely off-grid, just how I like it. He has solar panels and an inverter with 7 spots for a 12-volt hook-up through the interior. The inverter can power 2500 Watts. He also has a hook-up for shore power, if you have the ability to plug it in.He has an indoor shower, toilet (that needs to be emptied occasionally and does not accept #2's), a sink with a removable moveable faucet that can turn into an outdoor shower, an unattached stove, and a fridge that is powered 24/7 by the solar panels. He holds 20 gallons of clean water and 20 gallons of grey water. Now, let's talk storage. Stubby has plenty of storage! He has over-dashboard storage, under-sink storage, under-bench storage, above the foot of teh bed storage, nightstand bunk-bed-like storage, under-bed storage, and a roll-out under-bed cabinet (that can be removed to fit a kayak for example. Stubby also has a 6-foot long 1-foot wide table that can be assembled easier than Ikea furniture on his double door entry side.He has window curtains and a large curtain to cover the driving/entry area.Engine details: He is a diesel engine. He runs like a champ. As of March, he has a new DPF system. I keep up with oil changes regularly. He is a bulldozer! :)He also can come with a bike rack. Ce qui est inclusStubby will come equipped with a hot kettle, air fryer, ninja blender, and electric fry pan that can be used with shore power. He is stocked with basic cookware, two camp chairs (one that is called the Stargazer that reclines AND rocks), a coffee percolator, and a heated blanket for the bed.Fresh linens will be laid out, a shower towel, 4 hand towels, dish soap and scrubbies, and cleaning supplies.SAFETY: He is equipped with a carbon monoxide detector, fire detector, and fire extinguisher.RecommandationsI would recommend driving Stubby along the Pacific Coast Highway. There are large pullouts that allow boondocking. I would recommend downloading the iOverlander app to find other boondocking sites in the areas you plan to explore. He can park in most Walmart parking lots as well as truck stops, 24/7 gyms, and laundromats if need be. He is not subtle, but I have yet to receive a knock on my door in the middle of the night.I would also recommend driving him, literally anywhere. He has a hankering for adventure. He does well on dirt roads (Note below).Autres points à signalerBefore driving Stubby, ensure nothing is left out on counters, or they may go flying if you hit a bump. The radio does not work.
When weather is too hot, the AC does not work when the car is running.
There is no insulation, heater, or AC in stubby when he is not running. I have never been cold in Stubby, I have an electric and propane heater that I can provide upon request. I have been a bit too warm in him when the weather is hot but, the ceiling fan does help a lot!If the weather has not been great, and he has not been able to soak up enough sunshine through the solar panels, the inverter will tell you if he has run out of juice and needs more UV rays. It normally takes 3 days back to back of bad weather to cause a lack of power. It will make a loud buzzing sound. Turn off the inverter and know that the fridge will continue to run off of the battery, but the outlets will not work.Pets welcome.
Festivals welcome.
Please, do no #2's (poop) in the toilet. Save it or the rest stops. :)
Please, no smoking.
