4x4 Toyota Tacoma - Sleeps up to 5 - Goes Anywhere

Located in Kona on the beautiful island of Hawai'i, this is the newest van in our Fleet. This modern European design by Hymer Group in Germany is finally available in the US and is built in North America. It’s one of the only campervans in the State with a bathroom and indoor shower. It also comes with screen doors for the back door, a queen bed in the rear, optional front bed to sleep up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children, TV, kitchen, and comes with tons of storage. There is storage underneath the bed, which can hold surfboards, a kayak, a bike or even another place to sleep. We will even deliver the campervan to you at the airport when you arrive.
It is equipped with 260w of solar and a big bank of lithium ion batteries allowing you to run the fridge, TV, computer or music for days without having to recharge. When the batteries get too low, the engine automatically starts and the under hood generator charges the batteries. If you choose to use the rooftop AC all night, the engine will start multiple times throughout the night to keep the batteries charged so you need to be in a camp spot not around other people which is why we recommend just using just the vent fan at campsites with other people. This is nice during a hot day or muggy night and while this campervan is equipped with some of the latest power technology, just know that it an off grid RV and has some power limitations.
What makes this Campervan great is that you can stand up and walk around without having to pop the top and when you have one of those moments in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning when you need to use the bathroom, all you have to do is roll over and the built in bathroom is right there. This is also a new vehicle which not only has the reliability and power you need to also has all of the modern safety features you would find on a passenger car including front and side airbags, back-up camera, and antilock brakes.
The campervan has a full kitchen set with cookware, utensils, colander, French press coffee maker, measuring cup/spoons, cutting boards, knives, wine key, dish soap, dish rack, dish towels, salt, pepper, spices, a beach cooler, a Maui road map, flashlights, a set of binoculars, fire extinguisher, dust pan and brush, some extra rags and an Maui revealed book which show you all of the great outdoor spots to visit.
We also include some jumper cables, a couple lighters, first aid kit, tool kit, paper towels, toilet paper, aluminum foil, garbage can and garbage bags. Pretty much everything you would need to spend your time here out on the road camping in our campervan.
We charge an additional $8/day per person which covers the rental of dinnerware, silverware, cups, beach chair, beach towel, bath towel, bed linens, and pillow for each person in the campervan.
For an added cost, we also rent out child car seats, extra beach chairs, bluetooth speakers, tents with blow up mattresses, extra linens, and 10’x10’ instant up canopies.
*** Note *** - The rooftop AC will run on battery power all night but the vehicle has to be driven for 2-3 hours each day to recharge the batteries for the AC to be used each night. Otherwise there is plenty of power to keep cool with our vent fans and the night Hawaiian breeze.

"We started renting campervans out of our love for being on the road and sleeping in a different spot every night and are excited to share our favorite way to travel with other outdoor and van life enthusiasts. We’ve been exploring the mainland by van for over 20 years and love the freedom it provides. After our last extended vacation in our mainland home-on-wheels we realized it would be a great way to explore these island gems of Hawai'i! When home is where you park it, there are more hours to play the day away!"

Overall good experience. The van has seen better days. Several of the windows don’t open, which is a bummer. The bathroom closes, but not without some finesse.

It was easy to book. We were reminded when payments were due. Our van was ready on time at the airport as promised. It was really fun and a convernient way to see the island. We camped in beautiful, memorable locations which enhanced our trip. They were always responsive to any questions we had. The security deposit was credited quickly after completion of our trip. Beth-Ann was a great communicator! We recommend Campervan Hawaii!

We had an AMAZING adventure. From the time we picked up the van till we dropped it off, we loved it! Now, we're thinking of getting one to use wherever we go.:) We'd highly recommend it as a way to see the island. It's like bringing your hotel room everywhere with you plus more. We would recommend booking on Hipcamps along the island though. Don't believe what you read about being able to just park anywhere. NOT on this van. lol The staff of Outdoorsy are also Super Amazing. They're so easy to communicate with and everybody's very helpful. They made sure our adventure will be smooth and great. We can't thank you enough! Mahalo!

Loved exploring the Big Island by campervan. It was fun and convenient to have everything with you all along the way. We traveled with our two young boys and it was great to make food when we needed to and always have stuff on-hand. We camped at beach parks, a Mac-nut farm and nature park. Great experience! Also, recommend using “Shaka Guide” tour app for your drive.
