2013 Jayco Jay Feather Ultra Lite
Ol' Jaybird is a dream. She's light, nimble, and tricked out with a bunch of customizations that put her a class above most trailers you can easily pull with a regular old 1/2-ton vehicle. This particular model was sold under the Jay Feather and Whitehawk lines. Shortly after our girl was made they discontinued the murphy bed model, which is a real shame. The murphy-bed-plus-bunks combo is a game changer, in our opinion, because it lets you have more than enough room for hanging out during the day, and yet sleep in a for-real queen-sized bed. Here are some highlights:* Fiberglass sides and extra insulation (she was built for the mountains and bought new in Montana)
* Two bunks, one convertible dining area that sleeps two, and an actual queen-sized bedCustom re-upholstered, birch-tree-themed dining nook so it doesn't look like every other tacky trailer in the worldCustom copper backsplashResidential kitchen faucetUpgraded oxygenating shower fixture so you can almost imagine you're at homeAdded shelves in the bathroom so you have somewhere to put your TP and towels3M (removable) hooks all over the damn placeSuper-cute custom bookshelves on each bunkCustom-built valances (window cover things), hand-crafted from Montana beetle-kill pine. These things are pretty cool.We re-mounted the hanger bars in the "master" closets so an adult-sized shirt actually hangs in there without dragging nowNew and improved, 100-lb drawer slides on the big drawer under the fridge where you'll probably keep your heavy silverwareNew TV with integrated Roku for your Netflixing pleasureOne central slide-outMotorized one-touch awningMotorized electric hitch jack so you can hook up to her without anyone to help300 watts of solar panels and a solar charger, so the batteries are always ready to go . This means you can camp off-the-grid indefinitely and have use of lights, heater, fridge, water pump, water heater, slides, and hitch jack. Bring an A/C inverter to the party and the sky's the limit.All-LED lighting (We even replaced the bulb in the fridge!)Brand new axles and tires, plus a full suspension and brake tune-up, in 2016Yearly roof maintenance and re-sealingNew auto-switching gas regulator in 2018A few extras it took us a while to figure out that you get thrown in for Freeeeee:Andersen anti-sway, load-balancing hitch. This thing is really cool, and works much better than traditional load-balancing hitches. $550 value.
