Don't judge a "book" by it's cover. Check out our beauty, named Dolores!!She may be older, but she’s got the vintage character, spunk and sass that makes for a fun trip. If you’re looking for a classic RV with all the amenities you need… then Dolores is your girl. Enjoy your own little house on wheels amongst the beauty of the outdoors.About Dolores (Please Read):
-She’s a Chevy 24ft long, 10ft 8” tall & 8 ft wide. Long enough to not feel cramped, but small enough to easily maneuver and drive.
-She sleeps and seats 6, though to be honest it’s a bit tight if it’s all adults. The top bunk is perfect for the kiddos and they seem to love it!
-It’s light, bright and airy inside with a ton of windows and air flow.
-She has some wear on the outside with some dents, dings, tears (mostly inflicted by me ha!) and bandages.
-The interior was completely renovated in 2016 before our 9k/2 month long cross country road trip. New paint, flooring, lighting, toilet, cushions, etc
-The kitchen has a stove, oven and microwave including dishes, cups and pots and pans.
-Bathroom has a new pedal flush toilet and a small shower
-The AC runs ice cold once you are parked and plugged in.
-We have some games, lanterns, a 2 person hammock, picnic blankets, lawn chairs, umbrella, a bike rack, etc.
Important things to know & consider:
-This is NOT glamping. This is rustic. This is not a 5 star hotel. This is old school RVing with a ton of updates and interior improvements.
-This is a motorhome. A home on wheels.
-She’s over 30 years old!
-It has quirks and squeaks and you will need to be patient with certain things.
-It does burn some oil (smoke) when you initially start the engine, but it’s serviced regularly and the mechanic says it’s not a problem.
-This is NOT like driving a newer vehicle, nor is she a new swanky RV. She’s big, does not have all the bells and whistles, nor does it handle like a newer vehicle.
-It is not the quietest ride...it clinks and clanks as do ALL RVs.
-The water heater can be a bit touchy when lighting her, but to be honest a cool shower in the summer is always better.
-In the summer hot months, plugging in at an RV park, home or using a generator (3k watts) is a Must. The AC will not work until you are parked and plugged in. All other appliances will also work with no problem once plugged in.
-If you are looking for a super smooth drive with stiff suspension... this is not the RV for you.
ALL being said...We are very diligent with keeping the maintenance up, oil changes, tuning, exterior and interior work. She got brand new tires in 2016 and we’re continuously updating and improving things, so that the experience is better and better for each renter.Thing so consider while you’re driving:
-The AC in the cab Does NOT RUN while you are driving (only the front AC by the driver/passenger works), so you will have to have the windows open.
-The fridge does not run while you’re driving, but it will keep things cool until you’re able to turn it on.
-She squeaks and things move and make noise while you’re driving, so it’s not going to be the quietest drive.
-When passing a semi/large bus, it will push and pull a little.
-The brakes can squeak from time to time and are spongy but work perfectly fine. It does not have ABS… it’s 30 years old.
-It is a 350 motor and gets about 8 miles to the gallon and goes a max of 65mph. She drives great, but there’s absolutely no need to push her or speed. Please account for this in your drive time.
These things are not to scare you off. We just want to be up front, honest and realistic with what renting a vintage RV like Dolores is like especially in the summer months. We ask and greatly appreciate writing to us when booking and telling us about your trip.Tell us:
1. Where will you be going?
2. How many people?
3. Do you have experience driving larger vehicles?
4. Will you be bringing any animals?
These are all for us to get to know you & your trip better and feel comfortable renting her. We have decided to only allow rentals up to 6 hours away from Dayton, Ohio . If you’d like to go farther, then we can discuss. It’s basically a house on wheels, so we want to make sure you’re comfortable with operating her. We love our renters and sharing our old girl with wonderful, fun people, so if there’s anything we can do to make things better or if you have any questions at all, please ask.***As for the Corona Virus and Dolores… We are keeping a 2 day window between rentals. We do a thorough cleaning between each booking, but it will include disinfecting all surfaces to the best of our ability. We’re also asking that you bring your own linens and pillows, unless agreed upon otherwise. We want everyone to feel comfortable and safe, so please let us know if there’s anything else we can do.We hope you take a chance on an oldie, but a goodie. She will get you to your outdoor adventure and be a comfortable and cozy stay once you arrive. Plus she’s a lot of fun! You'll feel right at home and love every minute of hanging out with Dolores! Thanks so much for looking!

I am a lover of traveling. Seeing the world, seeing the country we live in and experiencing all that it offers. For as long as I can remember I've wanted to go on a roadtrip cross country in an RV. I tried several times with friends, but it didn't happen. Last year, I made it happen. My Dad and I bought this beauty, fixed her up and traveled out west for 2 months (Dad-3 weeks)with my dog, Henry. It was one of the best experiences and accomplishments of my life. Now I have the bug... living on the road is now in my soul. So while we're not using Dolores we want to rent her out so other people can have that same awesome feeling. xoxoxo
