James is unfortunately very dishonest and I wouldn’t suggest renting anything from him. The trailer he rented to us was riddled with problems to which James took zero accountability for anything that went wrong. From the start of the trip, before we even left his house, the trailer was having electrical issues and wouldn’t run on the battery backups. When we finally got it home, we could not use any of the electrical to level out the trailer, turn on the lights, and the refrigerator was not running. We eventually got the refrigerator to work and power to the trailer, but after the fact, the refrigerator would choose when it wanted to work. Unfortunately, we ended up losing all of our food during our trip due to an extended period where the refrigerator wasn’t operating. The host put the blame on us even though the refrigerator is supposed to work on propane which were checked and were full. The final straw with this trailer was at the end of the trip, the trailer brake stopped working which is a major safety concern to say the least. Also, be warned, if you decide to dispute the issues with outdoorsy, he will retaliate and take away your security deposit.
