I usually don't leave bad reviews. If it's not a great review, I just tend to skip versus leaving a review. I don't want to mess someone's renting history. But, I had to warn potential renters because we were taken advantage of. I feel obligated to let yall know to NOT rent this RV. The RV itself was not in the condition advertised, was missing several promised features, and required extensive effort on our part to make it usable. As a result, our trip was significantly impacted. We specifically chose this RV despite its higher-than-average price for similar listings, because it was advertised with premium features and amenities that we were willing to pay more for. Unfortunately, many of those amenities were either missing, broken, or nonfunctional, making the additional cost a moot point. Cleanliness & Prep Fee Concerns -We were charged a $200 prep and sanitation fee, and were told the RV would be cleaned and trip-ready. It was not. -The RV was filthy upon pickup. We had to deep clean it from top to bottom, removing every item to sanitize the space. This took over 4 hours and included scrubbing the sink, stove, toilet, cabinets, and all surfaces. -There was pet hair, grime, and dirt in every crevice, plus sticky grips on the floors (which previously held a rug) that were now dirty and unnecessary. The rug was heavily soiled, and we had to remove it entirely. -The toilet tank was left full of vinegar, creating a strong odor until we emptied and flushed it ourselves. -We paid for an extra rental day to pick up the RV early, based on our plan to leave early for our trip. However, due to the poor condition of the RV, we had to: -Unload all of our belongings -Deep clean the entire RV -Reload our belongings afterward -This caused a full-day delay in our departure and disrupted our schedule significantly. Listing Inaccuracies & Missing Promised Items -The listing stated the RV was available for pickup in 78724, which is near our home. In reality, the pickup was located much farther south, requiring us to retrieve the RV a day early at our own cost. -Host stated there would be a 2-inch gel mattress topper—this was not provided. -Host stated there would be an air fryer—this was not provided. -Host said the small plug-in heater “worked great”—it was completely nonfunctional. -Systems & Amenities That Did Not Work -No fresh water—we were told the tank was full, but the onboard app showed it was completely empty. No hose was provided to refill it. -No propane in either tank, so we could not cook or boil water. -No DVD player, despite it being listed as an amenity. -Wi-Fi was listed and confirmed by the host, but there was no Wi-Fi at all, which also rendered the TV unusable. -Awning was broken, despite being listed as a working feature. Broken & Unsafe Features -TV was physically breaking apart, exposing internal components. We had to duct tape it together, but even then the HDMI connection constantly cut in and out, making it unusable. -Awning was broken and had been taped down. The tape failed while driving, and we had to purchase and apply our own duct tape to secure it. -Pop-top was unstable—even when locked, it popped open (as the host previously acknowledged). We had to duct tape it shut to safely continue driving. -All window screens were broken or off-track, making it impossible to open windows without letting in bugs and dirt. -Sliding door screen was off-track and unusable. -Bathroom door was off-track and jammed, opening only partially. -Blinds were unstable—one fell off while driving and hit my daughter in the head due to loose screws. -Largest cabinet was unusable—shelves were on the floor upon arrival, and the door wouldn’t stay closed. We had to reinstall the shelves and duct tape the cabinet shut. -Skylight was cracked, allowing air to rush in. A pillow was being used in place of a proper shade, and there was constant suction noise during the trip. -Pop-top buckle was broken, requiring duct tape to secure it. -“Change Oil” light was on the entire trip. -Low tire pressure light was also on the entire trip. -Master engine warning light came on midway through the trip. -No windshield wiper fluid, which made it impossible to clean the windshield while driving—an important safety issue. The most concerning is that I asked the host for a refund for the issues and unavailable or broken amenities. Instead of responding, she filed a claim via insurance (for us to use our insurance and the extra insurance required by outdoorsy) saying we broke the items in the RV. This is fraud. This was done long after we returned the RV and only upon her seeing we asked for money back. You've been warned. Again, I don't think host is a bad person. I think she doesn't take care of this RV and doesn't know the condition she's renting it out in. Or, at least I'm willing to give her that benefit of the doubt.
