First things first - we had a great trip! Stephanie and Erik's "Trevor Thundersnow" was the perfect steed for our little Colorado road trip.A few key highlights for us:
- Trevor was just the right size for getting around town or up mountain roads without feeling like you'll hit everything in site.
- The bed is super comfortable. I like softer bed's, my partner likes medium and we both found it right. Side sleepers? This is your jam.
- The space inside with the slide-out extended is excellent. Cooking and cleanup is a breeze with the space and is perfect for those rainy days.
- We found the driver and passenger seats to be supportive and comfortable for long rides. They don't seem overly cushioned when you first sit down, but after a 6 hour stint my back didn't hurt and that's saying something.
- The hosts (Erik and Stephanie) were excellent. They worked with us patiently and had thought of almost everything. The little vaccuum was great for keeping the outdoors where it belongs! There were a few small issues on our trip (completely "act of god" type of issues, not caused by the hosts in the least), but they made sure we were still "on vacation" and we very much appreciated that.A few helpful points for future renters:
- As stated, the bed is super comfortable but it's also a bit narrow. This is up to the design of the RV, nothing anyone can do about it. If you need space, there are 2 other sleeping areas (again, a big plus), so plan accordingly.
- The radio has a good backup camera with sound! ...but it does not have Bluetooth. It does have a 3.5mm headphone jack, however! Make sure you can get a headphone jack audio cable plugged into your phone and you're golden!
- As with (almost all) RV stoves I've used, it's easier to light with a lighter than the built in ignitor. Save yourself the time and eyebrows - just start it with a lighter.
- The Microwave has a built in oven feature! Super cool! Bring aluminum foil so you can heat up some bread or pick up a glass dish at a local thrift store if you're flying in.
