You can make reservations at some of them. During the week it's pretty easy to get into a campground without reservations. And some campgrounds only reserve half their sites, keeping the other half for day-of arrivals. But it's harder to show up and find a spot if you arrive on Friday afternoon-Sunday.
Also--don't try to do too much in too little time. For instance, if you only have one week, don't try to race up to Denali, then all the way back down to Homer. Alaska is a big state. It's best to take your time and experience where you are, as opposed to always being on the way to somewhere else. We usually head down to the Kenai peninsula instead of north toward Denali. Denali gets pretty overrun with tourists and that can be a drag. And there's a LOT to see between Anchorage & Seward, (which is only about two and a half hours away). And in Seward there are fjord tours, fishing charters, the Sea Life Center, decent food & shopping etc. And a million dollar view of Resurrection Bay.
Happy to offer suggestions regarding good campgrounds, points of interest, & things to do. Just let me know.Autres points à signalerNo smoking in the van. Thank you!
Please provide a basic itinerary to the host.
If Rayvan is overly dirty or messy, an additional cleaning fee will be removed from the deposit.
