My 5th wheel was custom built for me in by Travel Units, Inc. (in the custom RV building business for nearly 50 years), in Elkhart, Indiana in February, 2012.It has all of the things you'd normally expect to find in a 5th wheel...plus other features that are a part of one that is custom built. It has fiberglass exterior, jalousie windows, day-night shades and custom color-coordinated solid wood valences. It was stored in the manufacturer's shed until it was towed to Aransas Pass in June, 2012.The title is free and clear. It is 46' long, has 3 duel, heavy duty axles and is built like a tank! (Above the axles is a full-size steel plate that is one-quarter inch thick. Above the plate are 2 x 6 cross-pieces throughout...ON Edge! Above the 2 x 6's is a one-inch tongue and groove flooring...and the manufacturer's very best grade of carpet above that!It has a 1-piece rubber roof. There is also a built-in ladder, spare tire holder and new, covered, heavy duty spare tire that has never been on the ground. All other tires have always been protected from the weather as well. The RV is 101" wide; 13' & 1" high and has 8.5' ceilings with about 40 linear feet of storage space near the ceilings. There is also full inside storage under both beds, accessible by means of hydraulic lifters at the foot of each bed. Both queen bedrooms and both full baths, laundry hampers, linen closets, etc., are identical, including 36" x 36" fiberglass showers with skylights and frosted glass doors. There are 2 power slide-outs: One is 24" x 10'; the other is 40" x 14'. There are 5 fold-down tables (a total of 14' of them) in addition to the dinette table and 2 padded chairs...so that up to 9 people can be seated for dinner without the use of lap trays or TV trays. There is an island kitchen with double stainless steel sinks and a huge Frigidaire stainless steel side by side refrigerator with cold, filtered water and choice of crushed or cubed ice dispensed from the freezer door. There is also a ceiling fan and lighting above the sink. There is central heating and 2 separate thermostatically controlled central air conditioning units with electric heat strips for taking the chill off if the morning is a little cool. The hot water heater is the larger 12-gallon size, fueled by your choice of electricity or 2 propane tanks.)There is a Winegard TV antenna with power booster ...plus a completely wired satellite dish and built-in ceiling speakers. There are electrical outlets, ceiling lights, both 12 volt and 110 volt reading lights), track lights and rheostats galore! There are matching recliners and a 46" TV that is part of the built-in entertainment center...plus a built-in 32" TV in each bedroom. There is even a phone jack in the bedroom for faxing...plus a built-in cabinet that contains a 4-drawer steel file cabinet with heavy duty glides that permit a full drawer to be moved with one finger!
