This was a FIASCO! It took me a while to write this because I hate leaving stuff like this.I could write a novel but here are the bullet points.1. Trailer was not where the listing said it was. It was 20 minutes further away. That’s annoying but I’ll deal with it. He did tell me I would be able to return the camper to the storage facility where the listing stated it was. That helps.2. During the walk through, the owner neglected to show me how the screen door had to be fully opened (unhooked from its propped open holder) in order for the stairs to fold in. Upon folding in the stairs, part of then staircase ripped a hole into the screen door (that he forgot to show me). Later that night I got a notification that I was getting $50 taken from my deposit. Wow, ok?!3. The camper was not to the cleanliness standards I was expecting from what Outdoorsy describes about the people who rent with their service. Toilet/bathroom looked like it belonged in a middle school boys bathroom. Kitchen counter tops were a mess and had leftover spillage on them from who ever used it prior.4. There was something faulty with the water hook-up. When the water was running for the sink or bathroom, it was fine, but as soon as you turned it off, water was gushing out of some broken valve on the outside of the camper, flooding our entire parking spot/camping area.As we made the bed's and settled in for the night, I laid down and noticed that I could see all the way through the vent cover above my head to the sky. I attempted to lower the mechanical hatch but discovered it wasn't there. Climbing onto the roof it was easy to see that whoever had this before had left it up while driving and it broke off down the road somewhere. When I informed the owner of it that evening, he asked me to "McGuyver" it. Good thing I did because as a storm rolled in that night, there's a good chance the camper would have been loaded with some extra water.5. Time to return the camper to where the listing said it was. Well, to confirm the address and actual location of that, I tried to call, text, email and message the owner through Outdoorsy... No response. I continued to reach out many times to no avail. There were only two storage facilities in the listing city so I drove by. What-do-you-know, no record of the owner in any form.I continued to get no response from the owner for two more days. Finally, a voicemail at midnight going on the third day.I was asked to return the camper to the facility where I got it from... The extra 20 minutes away. The owner apologized for the inconveniences and said I could use the camper whenever I wanted for our next trip at no charge and that he would refund me the $50 for the tear in the screen door. Well, we won't be taking him up on that offer and I never got my $50 back like he said.Do yourself a favor and rent from someone with multiple good reviews. My mistake I guess. Live and learn.
