If you are considering renting this RV please read this in its entirety. We were extremely disappointed in our first RV rental experience and here is why: the site lists that the RV had a TV and a backup camera, but when we arrived to pick the RV up was told that neither work. The TV had been removed and the backup camera was thrown onto the front dash. We were never told of this a head of time, but thought "we drove 4 1/2 hours to pick the RV up on the way to our destination "we can live without it".
The rest of the RV "looked" ok- not great, but ok. As we started to travel, we heard a very loud "rattle" from the engine area- we literally had to scream to talk over it. This continued throughout the duration of our trip. We ran into a rainstorm shortly thereafter and realized that the compartment (above the driver area) AND the back (rear wall behind the full sized bed) were both leaking BAD! Our pillows and bedding were all wet. We messaged the owner and he said that he "personally fixed the front cab area but was unaware of the back leaking". At this point we were almost to our destination, so we thought we could lay the bedding, pillows and mat in the sun to dry off. When we went to take the padding out from the top bunk/compartment, we were disgusted at the dirt and filth under it (there were used little wooden ice-cream spoons under there- yuck!) The rest of the RV was definitely not sanitized according to Outdoorsy's policy either- we could literally write our names in the dust on the doors of the RV. (These are things you don't exactly notice during the initial walk-through). Moving on- during our travel, all of the shelving in the fridge fell off- after looking at them- they had been put up with command strips. The table was not usable as it was broken and tilted to one side, all of the shades were bent and broken and the list goes on. The final straw for us was when we were traveling back and went to put in our last gas fill, we locked the doors to go into the gas station and tried to get back in through the side door and the door would not open. Once again, the owner stated he was not aware of the lock being broken and said we broke it. We seriously locked the doors and then tried to re-enter. There is NO WAY the owner followed any of Outdoorsy's guidelines regarding vehicle maintenance or cleanliness.
Overall, the campground and camp site were excellent and our family of 5 made the best of our trip, but the RV was definitely a disappointment. Many of our friends have rented RV's from Outdoorsy and have had an excellent experience- I guess we just chose the wrong one. Thank-you for taking the time to read- Do NOT rent this RV.
