The 2000 four winds rv was HORRIBLE. The AC doesn’t work so if you want to be cool while driving you have to run the generator but that shuts off every 5-10 minutes while the rv is driving due to the intense shaking. So we about died of heat exhaustion on our long trip there and back. Then something blew as we were leveling the rv so we couldn’t level it again. And then driving home the canopy came down flying out into traffic and then slamming violently back against the rv. It was so scary. We had to pull over on the interstate and attempt to fix it which was super dangerous because the large metal poles kept flying up and down and we could hardly control them. We called the owner shain and he advised how to get it rolled back up and said that there should be Velcro on the bars to help hold them. So this was a problem before that he “fixed” with a piece of Velcro. We are so lucky that no one was hurt.
Then tons of little things about the rv like a black piece of the fridge fell off every time we opened it, the bathroom door latch basically fell apart trapping me in the bathroom for over 20 minutes. The RV shook/vibrates so bad when you’re going over 50 mph that it is very dangerous to even leave your seat. It throws everything around including the people inside. The steering was so lose that it was very hard to even keep in our lane, my fiancé has his cdl and has plenty experience driving large heavy loads and he said this was the worst thing he’s ever driven, his hands were so sore from holding on so tight. This was our first time renting an RV and sadly we would NEVER rent one again without seeing it and driving it first.
The whole trip our family and friends kept calling the RV cousin eddys RV and we joked we were living the movie RV. Anyway we didn’t complain at all about this really awful RV that we paid to rent but then when we got back home we got this message from the owner:
I started looking over the rv yesterday. Everything is completely filthy. Countertops, floors, and even outside compartments and contents.
The unit us supposed to be returned in the same clean condition it goes out in. I am going to have hours of cleaning to get it back to a rentable state. Not to mention the damages.
I understand that you had some issues and the trip wasn't as you planned, but you have now made my job even more difficult.”
