We rented this 2009 Gulf Stream Conquest for 9 days in Fairbanks in September 2021; we had a good trip and the rig allowed us to re-visit many of our favorite places in the Interior. That being said, we had one extremely serious issue and several lesser ones.The serious issue. Neither the owner nor any representative of the owner was at the appointed place to orient us to the equipment, complete forms, take photos, etc. We had to contact Outdoorsy to locate the owner and have him call us. He said he was out of town and would do the orientation by phone. When we offered to wait until the next morning, he disclosed that he was out of the state altogether. After we located the keys, our “orientation” was done by phone as we moved around the exterior and interior trying to understand and test the operation of various systems, etc. There was no opportunity to point out any concerns to the owner and have them addressed before we left with the equipment. Not surprisingly, the owner was again absent when we returned the equipment to his office location. We gave the keys to his office assistant (it was a weekday, unlike our pickup day), took our own photos, and left. This was a completely unacceptable performance but at that point we had no reasonable alternative to the rig; Outdoorsy and the owner had our money and we had no other place to stay.Vehicle condition. The vehicle itself operated exceptionally well on the road and seemed to be well-maintained. This is an older rig and we knew that there would be some inevitable wear and tear. However, some of that should have been addressed and repaired (outside door stop, loose couch arm, etc.) There were some unwelcome surprises such as the heavy external generator which had to be offloaded from one of the cargo bays prior to use; the built-in generator did not work. Window coverings were awkward to use and the one on the couch/bed side of the rig we did not use at all because of a tear that made it hard to manipulate. The slide worked fine for the first six days and then started to jam halfway when we tried to put it out. We were able to pull it in and secure it; we did not try to extend it again although it made using the fold down couch/bed very awkward. Several storage compartments, exterior and interior, were cluttered with half used containers of things – some of it useful, some of it junk. (One does not need an electric can opener or an iron on a camping trip in Alaska.) No one had cleaned out these compartments in a very long time.

We were very excited for our trip to Alaska and booked this rv about 6 weeks in advance. Jim was pretty difficult to get a hold of, typically taking at least a day if not three to respond to our questions or concerns. The rv was basically as described, but a little beat up inside, with components falling apart and a general dirtiness that did not make our entrance feel welcomed. All in all the appliances worked, the engine ran, and we stayed dry and enjoyed our trip. Wish the communication had been more timely and the rig had been cleaner.

We had a wonderful vacation with the RV. Gave us lots of freedom beautiful campsites could’ve been better. Do you know performed perfectly. Jim was very available for anything we needed. Couldn’t have been better.

When we picked up RV it was not cleaned like we would have expected it. The owner wasn't there but a very nice women who I am assuming works for him helped us sort out lots of stuff that needed to be removed so we had room to unpack and get organized. After our first night cleaning and organizing we had a wonderful trip and the RV worked out good. The 3 stars was more about the lack of attention from owner. Our rating would have been higher had the owner taken the time to meet us at pick up and return to verify condition of RV.

Jim had the RV ready as described. A nice vehicle with decent mileage (diesel). Everything worked. Spent 3 nights around Fairbanks, two at Chena Hot Springs along the river in their RV campground. Drinks at the bar, fresh sockeye salmon (bought in Fairbanks) prepared in the RV, and a day pass, soaking several times in the hot springs. Visited the "ice museum" at the the resort as well.

RV was clean and well stocked with supplies. Jim was very responsive and helpful throughout the trip. Definitely recommend this RV to others!
