The van, Carlton and his wife Mika were all INCREDIBLE! The van ran perfectly, as advertised and I felt confident that if something did arise, I would have the support needed.

Great trip
No problem with the van. It’s old so set your expectations and A/C is out so it gets hot driving but VW vans were never know for their A/C quality. We had 4 people in Nevada City compliment the van, unsolicited. It’s definitely a vintage stick shift experience. I was fun watching the kids trying to figure out the windows. It’s old school, all the way. Campbell and his family are nice people.

Just speechless. What a way to explore California. My wife and I drove over a 1000 miles in 5 days. We Have been literally everywhere. From Lake Tahoe to Yosemite and Big Sur. The van was just perfect! It surpassed all my expectations. Carlton was awesome as well and he really takes good care of his cars for sure. Gonna miss the van.

Nice friendly guy. We enjoyed the van overall.
It did come up with some weird mechanical or perhaps electrical issues though.
Loud horn noises without us pressing anything & sparks... very strange. We had a couple hours of our trip pulled over trying to deal with it & talk to roadside & we weren't able to stay our 2nd night in it.
I am sure he will fix that though & it is a fun vehicle for taking on trips.

This 1990 Wonder made our first van-life dreams come true! As long as you understand that a 30-year old vehicle has some 30-year old parts, you'll also appreciate the amazing amenities it offers, including the pop-top, the amenable kitchen, the compartments for your kid's art supplies, books and sleeping bags, comfy seats, and of course the full package of sleeping in what you drive. No tent hassles. We brought a mat for the floor, which we easily removed and shook out every day. Be OK with cruising at 60MPH and you'll be as happy as a clam. Carlton and Mika were great with communication and we personally appreciated the opportunity to rent something in Berkeley, where we could bike to pick up and drop off.

Carlton and his lovely wife Mika were easy to communicate and plan with. On pickup Carlton explained the van’s systems perfectly so I felt very comfortable. The van is in great condition and is a pleasure to drive. Once you set up the pop up you’ll be amazed at the dreamy, breezy space you have.

Nous avons passé dix super jours à nous faufiler sur la route 1 avec ce bon vieux Westfalia ! Peu encombrant dans les villes il reste assez spacieux pour y dormir à 4.

Our family of 4 had a great experience! Carlton was easy to communicate with and the vehicle was perfect for our 4 day trip to Yosemite. He even gave us a ride to and from the local BART station. highly recommended.

Our family had a wonderful time on our camping road trip in Carlton's van. The old school style and retro tech was a welcomed change of pace for us. I had fun driving this vehicle and my kids enjoyed riding in it. Much gratitude to Carlton and fam for sharing their van and showing me around it before our trip.

Amazing van for exploring the California coastline! We absolutely loved the van and how well equipped it was with everything we needed, it was an easy set up and pack down and there was plenty of room for our small family of 3. This van has been kept in amazing condition. Carlton was very friendly, and thoroughly explained everything before we took off on our on roadtrip. We will be hiring again if we are back in California! Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic road trip in the van. The van was mechanically sound and very reliable. As the van an older model, I highly recommend you embrace 80's technology such as no A.C., rolling down your windows, locking each door individually and the fridge not working for us. I would recommend bringing a camp stove and ice box with you, as cooking in the van is possible but not really practical. Also factor in your milage of your trip, as it's easy to go over the 125 miles average per day on a road trip. That said, the fun we had, far outweighed any minor issues we encountered. Carlton and his family are good people and we treated the van with the same respect.

Carlton and his family were so accommodating to us on our trip to the bay area. The vehicle was in great condition despite it's age. Accessories were great to have. Also, the fridge is amazing. We were able to keep our meats, cheeses and sodas very cold all weekend. I haven't driven a stick in years and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend.

Carlton was so welcoming and nice when we met him! He took the time to give us a tour of the entire car and how it works. The van is really equipped to cook simple meals, mini refrigerator and lots of storage. It's also very spacious inside and in the back. We had many bags we packed yet still so much room. It was really fun driving up the coast and camping. There is also a few lights so you can be inside the van when its dark but still be able to hang outside (especially if its raining). Overall I would totally rent this from him again. He was so sweet and a very cool guy!
