We have rented RVs through Outdoorsy for the past four years, and unfortunately this was by far our worst experience.
We chose Ultimate Tailgating because we were willing to pay more for what appeared to be a higher-end diesel motorhome. The RV itself wasn't terrible and had the typical wear and tear you would expect from a rental. Our biggest issues were the company's communication and overall professionalism.
Shortly after booking, I sent the host a message explaining that we were taking this trip to visit my brother, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. I never received a response. As our departure date got closer, I sent three additional messages asking what time and where we would be picking up the RV, especially since the listed pickup address appeared to be just a side street in SeaTac. After receiving no replies, I genuinely started to worry that we had been scammed and were going to lose nearly $6,000, leaving us without an RV for an incredibly important family trip.
The night before our trip, we finally received a message containing only a generic YouTube walk-around video of the RV, the driver's name, and a phone number. I texted the number to find out who the driver was, and he called around 8:30 p.m. He explained that he had already been driving for 18 hours and was trying to make it to SeaTac in time.
Since he was driving directly through our town anyway, we offered to save him the extra drive by meeting him there and even paid for his Uber back to SeaTac ourselves. He agreed.
When he arrived the next morning, he spent about 10 minutes trying to clean the interior after both his long drive and the previous rental. The previous renters had left alcohol and personal belongings in the overhead bunk. After we got him a ride back to SeaTac, before leaving, he came back and demanded money because he felt he had "helped us out." This was extremely unprofessional and awkward.
Unfortunately, once we began our trip, the condition of the RV became even more concerning:
The toilet had clearly not been cleaned and still had visible skid marks.
The gray water tank was already full and overflowed the first evening as soon as we went to take a shower.
The floor had not been properly swept.
The RV had such an overwhelming smell of cologne that we drove with the windows down for the first hour just to air it out.
The sewer dump hose had been run over and was damaged to the point where is was very difficult to to empty the tanks with out causing an unsanitary situation.
Returning the RV was just as frustrating. Communication remained extremely poor. No one responded to my messages asking what time the RV needed to be returned, and my phone calls went unanswered. I finally reached someone by phone just two days before our scheduled return to arrange a pickup time.
While the RV itself was generally what we expected mechanically for a used rental, the lack of communication, poor preparation, inadequate cleaning, and overall disorganization made this a very disappointing experience—especially given the premium price we paid.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience fell well below the level of professionalism I expect from an Outdoorsy host. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Ultimate Tailgating and would encourage future renters to consider companies with stronger communication and better preparation before booking.

They changed the RV we had booked without any warning. I only realized something was different when I opened the Outdoorsy website a few days before the trip and noticed the RV was no longer the black one I had reserved a year in advance, but a white one instead. I only received an explanation after I reached out, and was told the original RV had maintenance issues.
Pickup was also confusing. We were given the address of a large mall, but no clear instructions on where in the mall parking lot to meet. We had to drive around looking for an RV and hope it was the right one. Communication was sporadic, and there was no direct contact number provided for pickup questions or RV issues.
The RV also did not come with pillows, sheets, or bedding, which apparently requires an extra package or charge. That was not made clear enough ahead of time.
The biggest issue happened when the canopy would not retract, leaving us stuck for hours with no response from the host. That lack of support during an active problem was extremely frustrating.
The RV itself was nice, but the poor communication, last minute vehicle change, confusing pickup process, unexpected bedding issue, and lack of timely support made this a bad experience overall. I would not recommend booking with this host.

We had the most wonderful week in the RV. Communication with the host was not as easy as we might have liked before and after our rental period, but they did arrange an excellent drop off and when we encountered an issue with the bathroom, they were responsive. The RV itself has some minor details but it drove very well and was perfect for our family adventure. Thank you.

Had a wonderful experience. Courtney and Bobby were extremely informative and I was happy that they were the ones who helped me. It was my first time RVing on my own and I was definitely nervous. They put me at ease and I was well prepared for my trip.
The unit I rented was in wonderful condition, had everything i needed and the ride was smooth and comfortable.
Thank you UT for great experience.

I reserved a specific vehicle, and on the day of pick up, I noticed the VINs were different. Another car was brought to me. When I addressed my concern, I was told this was the only vehicle they had, and the one I reserved was not avaible. I had no choice but to take the car; otherwise, my Thanksgiving plans would be canceled. Cost adjustments were made for the only availble vehicle. The vehicle was dirty, with animal hair, and had 40% gray water and 50% fresh water. Bobby told me during my walk-through that the gray water tank was empty and that the electric panel was giving a false reading. I was also told that fresh water didn't need to be full because it would spill over while traveling. Both statements turn out to be false. When I drove the vehicle home, I spent an hour cleaning it, vacuuming as much animal hair as possible. When I finished packing, I realized the rear bench seats had no seat belts, so I had to return to Ultimate RV to ask for some. The store personnel did her best to locate seat belts to install, and had to install them with the back door open in the rain and cold. My entire day was wasted cleaning and prepping the vehicle for a safe trip, and I didn't start our family trip until late afternoon, and I was charged for it. I returned the RV in better condition than I received it. I don't think I'll ever do business with Ultimate RV again or recommend anyone to them. I also asked for a military discount and I never received one.

Delivery and setup were great. Our issue was that refrigerator and freezer were not working and the technician never showed up. A definite inconvenience for our rental, but we survived.
