Had a great time renting Tanner's Nissan Frontier - the truck drove great and the rooftop tent was super easy to setup. Pickup and drop-off couldn't have been easier, and he included everything you would need for a camping trip including a gas stove, lantern, pots/pans, a cooler, and even pillows & blankets. Would highly recommend for anyone who's visiting Kauai and looking for a different experience than the resort or hotel.

We loved our experience! Great communication with Tanner which made our trip very easy.
The van was great and not overly big to drive. It was a lot more comfortable then we expected and came with everything we needed -cooking equipment, bedding, beach chairs etc.

Overall van life around Hawaii is the way to go and this vehicle did the job. Tanner is a responsive host and has lots of local knowledge. The van was outfitted with a full suite of car camping gear, making it really easy to get aroundThere were a few of setbacks both mechanical and service wise:
1. Brake and wheel alignment maintenance is needed.
2. The doors would not remain locked. For starters the key fob did not work, so each door had to be locked individually (no biggie), but 30 min later all of the doors would unlock themselves. When camping in unfamiliar locations and sleeping in the van, this is less than ideal. When contacted, the Host said he was aware of the issue. Not sure why we weren't told, could have easily been cleaned out when we left the van for extended periods of time.
3. We opted for airport pickup/drop-off for an additional fee. The pickup was seamless, but the drop-off not so much. We were on-time to the pickup location while the Host was 30 min late. Granted there was an accident that slowed the traffic commute to the pickup location. But if the Host had been at the location at the specified time, which also happened to be the checkout time, we would have not missed our flight.

We rented the van for four days and it was a really great experience 😊 we were the only once with a tent on top of the car in Kauai and everybody wanted to sleep like us 😅. It is much easier to build/fold up this tent like one on the ground and you just need some minutes. Furthermore we could easily cook our meals with the cooking equipment. We highly recommend you a trip with this van from Tanner. We have had a great journey with it.

We had an awesome adventure on Kauai thanks to Tanner and his van/camping set up. The van was packed with everything we needed to travel around the island and camp in a diverse range of settings. We stayed in the tent some nights and the van others, and were amazed at how well the van drove. There was a major storm while we were there, and the van had to make it across some seriously wet and muddy roads, and it handled them like a champ! The equipment Tanner provided was all really nice and worked perfectly. We had a couple of minor technical challenges with the van, but Tanner was super responsive and helpful and got it handled right away. Overall it was an amazing way to see Kauai, for a great deal, and with the help of a wonderful host.

We really enjoyed our stay on Kaua'i thanks to Tanner's setup.
He'd provided everything we would have normally brought with us on a camping trip back home (and even included spare batteries for the torches!).
Tanner himself was easy to get along with, and really responsive to questions. The welcome folder that is provided on arrival is super useful, and details where all of the campsites that are available on the island - this made camping on Kuau'i much easier than a similar trip on big island the week before, and I would definitely recommend the former over the latter. We had a week in the truck, which was just about right to see the island and really slow down in camping mode.

Overall we had a great experience and made some wonderful memories! Tanner went above and beyond to make our experience a good one and I would definitely recommend his rentals to my friends in the future,We did have some complications that were unexpected which effected parts our experience. Our original rental was for the 2006 Ford F150 but there was an issue with that truck so we were given the Nissan Frontier instead. We were told that they were the basically the same except for the make and model. However one of the main features I was excited about was the built in shower in the F150 which was not provided with the Nissan. We did notice some small things that did not work in the Nissan such as the air conditioning would turn off and on but I believe Tanner was going to get this fixed. When I originally made the booking I did not realize that the vehicles are not 4 Wheel Drive which did prove to be an issue for us a couple of times. Luckily we were able to get some help to get out of some sandy areas. It did limit some of the areas we were able to go for camping.We absolutely love camping and we have a CVT rooftop tent back home that we use regularly. Tanner's tent was in great shape and it was clear he takes good care of it. He did provide everything we could need for the camping experience including the amazing paddle boards and hammock which we loved using. Even with the small setbacks, we had an amazing experience and would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to see Kauai in a different way than the average tourist!

We had an awesome experience renting with Tanner. He picked us up from the airport and was super informative about Kauai and recommending places to stay and where to go. The vehicle we had booked needed repairs so we were given a replacement vehicle which was awesome. Absolutely recommend and thanks for the great stay.

The experience of camping in the truck tent was amazing. We opened it up at the beach during the day, and got lots of comments and looks. The tent is easy to open (takes less than 10 minutes with two people.) All the camping essentials were there, even bug spray, which we needed the first night. We had stayed in some swanky hotels before picking up the rig, Tanner's sheets were fresher and less musty than all of them. We were really comfortable in the tent (we are both 6ft tall!) We had a beautiful site under a large tree, it was like sleeping in a treehouse. As a girl that never liked sleeping on the ground, this tent was the perfect combination. With all the vents open we felt like we were sleeping out in the Hawaiian summer night.
Communication with Tanner was great, he even helped with drop-off and pick up and campground location. We were a little uncomfortabel picking up the vehicle without anyone there and just taking it, but it all turned out okay. The only so-so item is the truck is a little run down, but its an island car - you don't go over 45 miles an hour anyway. All in all, we had a great time for the price. We are already looking into getting a tent for our truck at home!! Thanks Tanner!

We rented the truck for a couple days early this week as a partof our 10 day vacation. Tanner was flexible on out pick up time and very organized with all of his gear and gave us a great demonstration on how to set the rent up. I️ would have given 5 stars but the first nights sleep was rough for us on the thin mattress in the tent. Luckily they included an air mattress for use with the ground rent which we used the second night and it saved us! I definitely recommend anyone renting just add the air mattress right from the start. The hints he had about camping spots were so helpful! We did Polihale the first night (be prepared for a very bumpy ride in) but so worth it.
