We rented this great camper for seven nights and took it to both South and North rims of the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Walnut Canyon and then down to Sedona before heading back to Flagstaff.Over 927 miles we averaged 22 miles to the gallon of diesel fuel.
The diesel engine is quite powerful and coupled with a smooth operating automatic transmission we easily cruised at 65 when allowed. The wide tires gave a great sure-footed feeling even when traveling through the rain and gave us a surprisingly quiet and smooth ride.Bianca and Eric have outfitted their Sprinter beautifully!
The kitchen came very well equipped, including pots and pans designed to work with the portable induction cooking unit. This unit runs on the electric the van supplies and is very efficient. The electric comes from the battery unit which is recharged by either plug-in, alternator, or the roof mounted solar array. Even with using the vent fan all the time as well as lighting, water heater and induction cooking unit, we never got below 25% capacity before we were back on the road or under a steady sun. Eric even installed a receptacle next to the oh so comfortable bed that has built in USB charging ports. The right side passenger chair is able to pivot 360 degrees so you can swivel it around and use it as seating in the kitchen area. There is even a separate butcher block table that has variable configurations so you can use it as a desk or an additional food prep table. And I must mention the fold out table that is on the outside of the camper as well.Built in electric hot water heater required less than 7 minutes to produce more than enough hot water to clean up after a big meal. The self contained propane fueled shower water heater provides all the hot water you will need (remembering that the freshwater supply is 25 gallons). The gray water tank is easily emptied using the included hose that takes less than 2 minutes to hook up.The camper has a powerful ceiling vent fan with variable speeds as well as temperature control, to keep the air fresh and flowing.Bianca has stocked the camper with all the things you might have forgotten (toothpaste, sun screen lotion, shampoo and body wash, movies for the in-dash DVD player, toilet paper, paper towels)Eric and Bianca are gracious hosts who welcomed us with much information on the camper as well as the Flagstaff area and things of interest during our trip. They were very responsive, never more than a phone call/text away and made our trip a great success.
