Cesar was an absolute gem of a host to work with. My husband and I used to be in the hospitality industry, and this guy absolutely shines as a welcoming and friendly host. We know we have to come back to spend more time in Olympic NP, and we are 100% checking with Cesar first when that time comes. By far, of all our National Park trips, camping outings, etc: This was the best experience we've ever had (alright, well, besides our wedding in Yosemite), and Cesar played a huge part in that.Right off the bat, we had a great experience with him that continued all the way through to the end of the rental. He was quick to respond before we confirmed the booking on questions we had, and advised on availability of the add-ons (the early pick up, and late drop-off, respectively), so we had a good picture of what the start and end of the trip would look like. He was great about reaching out a day or so in advance of the trip via text, which was great, as I had that thought to reach out to him but ended up forgetting. Very nice peace of mind hearing from him right before the trip.We arrive, and had a quick check-in process. Checked out the vehicle, and got the low-down on all the aspects of the van. My husband and I are experienced campers, but haven't really done anything with a camper van before. Cesar had us feeling like experts as we pulled away, getting the scoop on the generator, additional components of the van (roof tent, cargo trunk, window covers for sleeping at night, the electric cooler, and all the little bells and whistles of the van itself). Another great point was how much overhead storage there was right above the driver and passenger seats. There's like a 6" tall space, maybe 10" deep that goes along the entire width of the vehicle, and it's not visible from outside of the van, so we confidently kept wallets/personal items up there. The van itself was very easy to navigate with. We hit the three main National Parks in Washington (camping overnight in each park's campgrounds) and had zero issues with the paved roads or any concerns about too steep of grades for the van (and cargo bin on the back), so bottoming-out was never a fear. The van has a sequential/sport mode as well, which is an absolute game-changer for going down mountain roads so you're not riding the brakes the entire time. Easier on your nerves, and on the brakes/van as a whole. If you aren't familiar with it, Google it and watch a few videos. Very simple functionality that will greatly enhance your travel.I saw a review saying that some 'cons' were the van being low to the ground (which again, wasn't anything that we personally had issue with), as well as the backup camera beeping from the cargo trunk on back. That last part is true, but there's a button on the dash that turns off the backup camera beep: Problem solved.Cesar thought of everything. We did simple cooking (boiling water for dehydrated meals from REI), but as we continued to get familiar with the van during our trip, the items/equipment he prepared and included were perfect, and we couldn't stop remarking, "Oh wow; we have this too??" Absolutely amazing. We kinda forgot there were that many amenities he included. We opted for a few add-ons: 2 folding camping chairs, the folding table, and the essentials consumables, and that was the perfect cherry on top for our trip.
