Francis (Joe) and Vera were amazing!! Even before the start of the trip, they patiently answered all of my questions and on the day of our trip, sat with us to go over all the information we needed to have a great time. This included learning about the Rv, as well as general tips and tricks of RV life, and beautiful drives and overlooks we should be sure to see on our trip. To be honest, at first, as novice Rv users, we were nervous about driving this thing, but as soon as we took our first turn it felt so natural. The engine was so powerful you forget that you are driving a house! It was good on the ups and downs of mountainous Colorado and we were able to even parallel park it in city centers! It is also very photogenic! Overall we had an amazing time and I would definitely recommend to all those considering an RV adventure.

Spent a wonderful week in the Rockies in the Leaping Lion! She’s an older vehicle, though well maintained, and therefore has a harder time on those steep inclines. The well appointed kitchen made cooking a breeze! We loved this trip and are so happy we rented this RV.

While Francis was affable and made sure the RV was well-stocked with camping supplies, we were disappointed that the listing photos were deceptive because of the run-down appearance and the shaking of the front-end of the RV making it unsafe to drive when we picked it up. There was a crack along the entire length of window above the cab which leaked and there was back-end damage of right rear end with bungie cords holding the right-side rear bumper together. Since the sprayer for the toilet leaked, we were afraid the shower would leak also so, we didn't use the shower in the RV. The RV also does not have a bottom fold out step which made it a little difficult to step down out of it. There was no awning for the hot sunny days at the RV park. We did return it a day early due to being called into work at the last minute and brought it back cleaner than when we received it.

Well it is a Vintage RV NOT brand new. There isn’t any rust or dings other than damage to the back bumper which with COVID it has been impossible to fix. The CRACKED NOT BROKEN window in the upper bunk area doesn’t leak. The toilet and instant tank free shower works perfectly.

I cannot say enough good things about Francis and Vera. Our family of four were first time RVers, and they really put our minds at ease. Any question while on our journey was answered quickly either by phone call or text. The RV was very nice, clean and had everything we needed. Francis was a great owner/host. He was very accommodating for our trip and was very easy to get in contact with. The pickup and drop off was great because he delivered the RV to us and gave us a ride to the airport once we dropped it off. This was our first drivable RV experience and was a great learning adventure. It does show its age in some areas, but that is to be expected and is made up for by the savings you'll get over similar Class C's.

Our family of four had an amazing trip in the Leaping Lion! Five states and more than 2500 miles over 14 days and enough memories for a lifetime. Francis was very responsive anytime I had a question while we were on the road and we loved the camp chairs, outdoor stove, and the many other "extras" that were provided at no charge. The Born Free name is well recognized in RV/Campground circles and we got many compliments along our route. Although the vehicle is a little older than many we considered, it is easy to drive and we always felt safe in the Leaping Lion and would definitely rent it again! Thank you Francis and Vera!

Had a lovely week in Francis' RV at Great Sand Dunes National Park. Easy to drive and made good time and gas mileage. Francis was always ready and patient to help answer questions I had along the way.

We had a great experience renting the BornFree. We rented it to drive from Colorado to South Carolina and back for the holidays. It handled great without any worries for the 3,500 miles. Francis was wonderful to work and prompt to respond to questions. He provided everything we needed for our trip and some.

I cannot express the exceptional treatment we received from Francis renting the Bornfreer. This was our first RV experience and the vehicle performed like a dream, was simple to maintain, and amply allowed us the comfort and room we needed for our adventure. Francis was easy to work with, available for text questions around the clock, and a breeze with the paperwork and follow up. Prompt, courteous and a great guy! We'd do it again, and are planning to do so!

I Can't say enough good things about Francis and his helper Joe! As far as customer service goes, Francis is the best. Accommodating, proactive and helpful. They went above and beyond!
The RV is appropriately priced. It's not flashy or or fancy, but extremely practical and well maintained for it's age.
The bonus of including things like blankets, pillows, towels and cookware, etc. is a major bonus. My family hopes to utilize Francis's service and camper again next year.

We were first-time campers and we had a great 4-state, two-week trip in the Born Free! This RV has all the basics covered and then some - Francis has it stocked with all the accoutrements. It drove well for over 2,000 miles and never missed a beat. Its age shows in some areas, but that is to be expected and is outweighed by the savings you'll get over similar Class C's. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-conscious trip with a solid & well rounded RV.

I took the Born Free for a full 3 weeks. My group visited Bad Lands, Custer, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Rocky Mountain with a bunch of impromptu stops along the way. I drove the entirety of the trip with 4 of my friends (and 6 for just 2 days) in the back. It was my first time driving an RV although I have driven a few larger vehicles in the past. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to future groups.Party Size:
In my opinion, a group of 3-4 average-sized adults is the perfect group for this vehicle. After that you'll be a little bit cramped, especially if you have any high-maintenance people in your group. If you have 2 adults with 2-3 children that is also a perfect-sized group as kids will love to sleep up in the bunk (it was my favorite place to sleep). Pack light and don't fill all the cabinets with food because I guarantee you'll overpack and bring too much food - you'll want that extra space. We typically kept everything up top and then moved everything onto the front seats when we wanted to go to sleep. The shower can be a little tough for anyone overweight or taller than 6 feet (as can the toilet) but its an RV so I'm sure you knew that already.Driver Notes:
Keep in mind this was my very first time driving an RV so this might be especially helpful if you are also a novice. Firstly, if your GPS said ETA in 10 hours, you'll be there in about 14-15. Do not go by GPS time, go by RV time. You're not going to be able to keep up with the cars on roads with 80 mph speed limits. Don't get me wrong, you can get the RV up to 80 mph but you shouldn't for 2 reasons: 1. It is miserable for everyone not in the driver seat and 2. You'll dislodge plumbing, electrical work, and likely break things in the back (this happened to me and it was easily avoidable). Just don't do it. Enjoy the ride and go at a comfortable speed. I typically set cruise control around 55 mph and broke my trip up into 4-6 hour trips whenever possible. On my first day (before I had any idea of RV driving time) I drove the entire day and it was a rough one. It is not fun driving this thing at night in certain areas with animals jumping across the road and downhill turns. Try to do your driving during the day when it's easiest to see. I would say the other big thing to be cognizant of is downhill drives. You want to stay in 2nd gear and now wear out the brakes. We had brand new brakes so I didn't have to worry, but when you're going downhill with all that weight for long periods of time, they are going to get hot. Don't put yourself in a stupid situation.RV Maintenance:
We were surprised by how little we spent on gas. I dumped and kept the water tank as empty as possible when driving so that we would have as little weight as possible. When you dump you'll want to make sure the left side of the RV is poised lower for an easy dump. It's a pain when you are too far away or uneven and everything keeps getting stuck/backed up. Each time you stop, check that all your outside panels, latches, etc., are still securely closed. We almost lost the dump hose and almost lost the battery because I drove too fast and the bumping up and down caused some latches to become unlodged. You really want to be wary of your speed for this reason.

Francis was wonderful! He was very accommodating for our trip, kind and attentive, and was very easy to get in contact with. It was especially helpful that he delivered the RV to us and gave us a ride to the airport once we dropped it off.
This was our first RV experience, and we had a great time in the Born Free, which affectionately came to be known as the Jason Bourne Free. Francis provides and stocks everything you could think of in the RV, so it made several aspects of the trip a lot easier.
It is an older vehicle, so just be careful when you are driving! We went over an unavoidable and sizable bump while driving on a dirt road, and although we did so slowly and carefully, the exhaust pipe loosened and fell off. The RV can feel a little shaky while driving up and down the mountains, but Jason Bourne Free took it like a champ! My brother and I made a lot of fantastic memories in this RV and really saw a lot of Colorado’s beauty. Thank you so much, Francis!

Francis is very nice and provided all the help I could imagine. The battery drained overnight since I forgot to switch off the headlight. Francis showed up after 30 min and helped out. Also all the inquiries were answered quickly.

We had a beautiful road trip, loved our RV. Francis is a nice person, and the rv was incredibly stocked with everything you could ever need! Many items were new so it was clean and very sterile - avoiding any virus concerns. He ground us fresh coffee before our trip, fresh towels, pillows, I could go on. Very generous. The RV did great going up hills in 1-70 and the beds were comfortable. There was nothing we were left needing! It made us start thinking that we need our own RV!
Francis was kind and helpful the whole way through!
We would rent it again for sure! I thought the value was also great. Thanks so much Francis!
