Nicholas Chernow and Kim Cambias wanted a getaway. Not only were they aching for some quality time together, but Nic had a special surprise planned that had to be just perfect. Unfortunately, finding a way to vacation in the current pandemic can be a bit tricky. After poking around online a bit, Nic and Kim came across Outdoorsy.
“After research, we had no concerns about Outdoorsy,” Kim tells us. “We felt we would be protected along the way. Our only concerns were about our own capabilities since this was our first RV trip.”
The couple selected a campervan, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. “We liked the fact that you made the insurance purchase option easy for us, and that you screen the renters well, as well as the owners,” Kim shares. “We also loved working with Sirnette.”
Behind the wheel of the perfect camper, the couple was ready for the road trip of a lifetime. “We went from Georgia to Colorado and back, staying in RV parks along the way,” recounts Kim. “We were gone for 10 days and enjoyed exploring and taking our time. We brought out bikes and rode everywhere we went. We had concerns about the coronavirus, so we were happy to cook our own meals, which we really enjoyed doing anyway.”
This all sounds fantastic, but these fun camping activities weren’t even the best part of this couple’s getaway. You see, Nic was using this trip as an opportunity to pop the question! “I played it all by ear,” explains Nic. “I had the ring and had been carrying it around, waiting for the perfect place. We were on a rowboat in a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains in Silverthorne, Colorado. I got down on my knees and asked Kim if she would marry me.”
The lovely bride claims she had no idea the proposal was coming. “We had discussed our future and the possibilities,” she says, “but I definitely did not expect it on this trip.” Of course, she was thrilled with the surprise and was happy to accept Nic’s proposal. The couple is now in the process of planning their big day.
Clearly, this was the trip of a lifetime and one that will likely never be topped. In fact, the couple had such a good time camping in their rental that they plan to do it again. “We are contemplating two trips in the fall,” they tell us excitedly.
