2016 Late Summer/Fall Music Festival Schedule — August to October

This post is a follow-up to the first half of our 2016 Music Festival Schedule. Check out what’s happening with our Late Summer/Fall Music Festival Schedule:

Telluride Jazz Festival August 5th to the 7th

Telluride Music Festivals RV Accessible

For the best in jazz music, you can’t miss Telluride. This laid back showcase of jazz, funk and soul features such luminaries as Galactic, Jeff Coffin and the Mu’Tet, the John Scofield and Jon Cleary Duo, Lisa Fischer and Grand Baton with Caleb Chapman, among others.

Telluride has been the premier U.S. jazz fest for 40 years running, and it is located in the scenic mountains of Southwestern Colorado. There are always great food choices and micobeers to be had, and you can lay back and listen or dance when the mood comes over you.

RV camping is available at the Telluride Town Park Campground, which allows you easy access to the festival.

Bears PicnicAugust 4th to the 7th

RV friendly Bears Picnic Music Festival PA

For you country rock fans out there, Bear’s Picnic is your cup of tea. Located in Milmont, PA., among all of the great music you’ll hear are workshops, a swimming pool, kayaking, craft and food vendors with kids activities too!

This year some of the lineup includes Melvin Seals and JGB, the John Kedlecik Band, Willie Jack and Northern Light, Dr. Southclaw and a host of others. Camping is available on site at the Sunsational Family Campground.

Rocky Mountain Folks FestivalAugust 19th to the 21st

Bluegrass in Lyons, Colorado, is a bluegrass feast for the ears. This easy to see music fest can be viewed from a blanket, if so desired, and it features one of the best sound systems in the world.

You can camp on-site at the Planet Bluegrass Ranch, or at several local campgrounds, whichever works for you and your RV. Musicians include the Decemberists, Ben Shannon, Kathy Mattea and Darlingside, with many others to make an appearance.

Burning Man –  August 25th through September 5th

Burning Man RV Friendly

This is a spiritual festival that doesn’t feature any performers exactly. In actuality, YOU are the performer. If you embrace the festival for what it is, you’ll play a big role in the creation of it. The highlight is literally burning a gigantic wooden “man” effigy at the end of the festival.

Based on philosophy and art, Burning Man prides itself on the saying, “Life is short. Make something amazing. (Then burn it.)” Located in the Black Rock desert of Nevada, RV camping is available on-site and you have easy walking distance to all of the festivities.

Kaaboo September 16th to the 18th

Kaboo Music Festival RV friendly
On the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California, Kaaboo is one of the best rock and pop venue concerts on the West Coast. Featuring artists such as Aerosmith, Jack Johnson, Lenny Kravitz, Jimmy Buffett and female guitarist extraordinaire, Orianthi, many other artists will grace the stage over the 3 days of this festival.

Grooving at Kaaboo features camping on the outskirts of the city, but you’ll have to use San Diego public transportation to get to the festival. But this is one of the best of the west fesitivals, so be there or be square.

Joshua Tree Music Festival October 6th to the 9th

Joshua Tree Music Festival RV Friendly
If you love Indie music, you’ll love the Johua Treee Music Festival. Located in the high desert of the Mojave Desert, this magical and spiritual pilgrimage gives you the best in Indie artists, Folkadelic and Newgrassy styles, while allowing you to get your head together at one of the last major festivals of the year.

With camping right on-site, it’s easy to get to all of the venues, and you’ll be able to enjoy such artists as Adam Freeland, Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown, Mokoomba, Jagwa Music, Zazi, Tim Easton and many others.

So ends our 2016 Late Summer/Fall Music Festival. Of course, there are many many more to attend throughout the country, but if you can make it to just these few, you’ll have covered a lot of ground. From east to west and everything in between, these festivals are all RV-friendly for your convenience.
